A woman has been arrested by Chilkalaguda police in Secunderabad after allegedly attempting to murder her mother-in-law during a violent family dispute believed to be linked to property issues. The incident was captured on CCTV installed inside the residence.
According to police, the accused, D. Vijayalakshmi (33), allegedly attacked her 57-year-old mother-in-law, Devarai Padmavathi, with a kitchen knife, causing injuries to her neck and fingers. Hearing the victim’s screams, neighbours rushed to the house and shifted her to Gandhi Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Police said preliminary investigation points to a long-standing dispute over family property as the motive behind the attack.
