Traditional Medicine Working Group Approved

భారత్ అధ్యక్షతన జరుగుతున్న బ్రిక్స్ (BRICS) 2026 సమావేశంలో సంప్రదాయ వైద్యానికి ప్రాధాన్యం పెంచే దిశగా కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. సమావేశం సంప్రదాయ వైద్యంపై ప్రత్యేక సైడ్ ఈవెంట్తో ప్రారంభమై, బ్రిక్స్ సభ్య దేశాల సంప్రదాయ వైద్య నిపుణులు ఇందులో పాల్గొన్నారు.
చండీగఢ్లో మీడియాతో మాట్లాడిన ఆయుష్ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ కార్యదర్శి వైద్య రాజేష్ కోటేచా మాట్లాడుతూ, సంప్రదాయ, పరిపూరక, సమగ్ర వైద్య విధానాల (Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine – TCIM) కోసం ప్రత్యేక వర్కింగ్ గ్రూప్ ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని భారత్ ప్రతిపాదించిందని తెలిపారు.
ఈ ప్రతిపాదనపై సభ్య దేశాల మధ్య చర్చలు జరిగాయని, అనంతరం అన్ని దేశాలు ఏకాభిప్రాయానికి వచ్చాయని వెల్లడించారు. దీంతో భారత్ అధ్యక్షతన బ్రిక్స్లో సంప్రదాయ, పరిపూరక, సమగ్ర వైద్య రంగంపై పనిచేసే ప్రత్యేక సంస్థాగత విభాగం (Institutional Vertical) ఏర్పాటుకు మార్గం సుగమమైంది.
ఈ కొత్త వ్యవస్థ ద్వారా బ్రిక్స్ దేశాల మధ్య సంప్రదాయ వైద్య రంగంలో పరిశోధన, జ్ఞాన మార్పిడి, విధానాల సమన్వయం, పరస్పర సహకారం మరింత బలోపేతం కానుందని అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.
India’s BRICS 2026 Chairmanship marked a significant step towards strengthening cooperation in traditional medicine. The meeting began with a dedicated side event on traditional medicine, bringing together experts from all BRICS member countries.
Speaking in Chandigarh, Ministry of Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said India proposed the creation of a working group on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) under the BRICS framework.
He stated that the proposal was discussed among member nations and received unanimous consensus. As a result, a dedicated institutional vertical has been established under India’s Chairmanship to promote cooperation in Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine within BRICS.
Officials believe the new institutional mechanism will enhance research collaboration, knowledge exchange, policy coordination and cooperation among BRICS countries in the field of traditional medicine.
