మేడ్చల్ మల్కాజిగిరి జిల్లా, శామీర్పేట: రక్షిత వన్యప్రాణి అయిన నీలగాయి (బ్లూ బుల్)ను అక్రమంగా వేటాడి మాంసాన్ని తరలిస్తున్న ముగ్గురు సభ్యుల ముఠాను శామీర్పేట పోలీసులు, మల్కాజ్గిరి ఎస్వోటీ–2 బృందం సంయుక్తంగా అరెస్టు చేశారు. నిందితుల నుంచి సుమారు 70 కిలోల నీలగాయి మాంసం, లైసెన్స్ కలిగిన రైఫిల్, ఎయిర్గన్, 88 రౌండ్ల మందుగుండు సామగ్రి, కత్తి, బొలెరో వాహనం, రెండు సెల్ఫోన్లను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు.
పోలీసుల వివరాల ప్రకారం, యాప్రాల్కు చెందిన వేముల సునీల్ సల్మాన్రాజ్, అతని కుమారుడు వేముల అఖిల్, కార్మికుడు కట్టా ఆదినారాయణ కలిసి ఆదిలాబాద్ అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో నీలగాయిని అక్రమంగా వేటాడారు. అనంతరం మాంసాన్ని ముక్కలుగా చేసి బొలెరో వాహనంలో యాప్రాల్కు తరలిస్తుండగా, విశ్వసనీయ సమాచారం మేరకు శామీర్పేట మండలం అంతాయిపల్లి గ్రామ శివారులోని బిట్స్ జంక్షన్ వద్ద పోలీసులు వాహనాన్ని అడ్డగట్టి ముగ్గురినీ అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు.
ఈ ఘటనపై శామీర్పేట పోలీస్ స్టేషన్లో వన్యప్రాణి సంరక్షణ చట్టం–1972లోని సెక్షన్ 9, 51తో పాటు ఆయుధాల చట్టంలోని సెక్షన్ 30 కింద కేసు నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు ప్రారంభించారు. లైసెన్స్ పొందిన ఆయుధాన్ని చట్టవిరుద్ధంగా వినియోగించడం కూడా తీవ్రమైన నేరమని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు.
వన్యప్రాణుల అక్రమ వేట, రవాణా లేదా వాటి అవయవాల అక్రమ నిల్వకు సంబంధించిన సమాచారం తెలిసిన వెంటనే పోలీసులకు లేదా అటవీ శాఖ అధికారులకు తెలియజేయాలని ప్రజలకు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ఈ ఆపరేషన్ను మల్కాజ్గిరి పోలీసు కమిషనర్ బి. సుమతి ఐపీఎస్ పర్యవేక్షణలో శామీర్పేట పోలీసులు, ఎస్వోటీ–2 బృందం విజయవంతంగా నిర్వహించింది.

Shamirpet, Medchal Malkajgiri: Shamirpet Police and the Malkajgiri SOT-2 team jointly arrested three persons for allegedly hunting a protected Nilgai (Blue Bull) and transporting its meat in violation of the Wildlife Protection Act.
Police seized approximately 70 kilograms of Nilgai meat, a licensed rifle, an air gun, 88 rounds of ammunition, a knife, a Bolero vehicle, and two mobile phones from the accused.
According to the police, Vemula Sunil Salman Raj, his son Vemula Akhil, and worker Katta Adinarayana, all associated with Yapral, allegedly hunted the protected animal in the Adilabad forest region. They reportedly cut the meat into pieces and were transporting it to Yapral in a Bolero vehicle when police intercepted them near BITS Junction in Anthaipally village limits of Shamirpet based on credible information.
A case has been registered under Sections 9 and 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, along with Section 30 of the Arms Act. Police stated that misuse of a licensed firearm for illegal hunting is a serious offence. They also appealed to the public to immediately report incidents of illegal hunting, wildlife trafficking, or illegal storage of animal parts to the police or forest authorities.
