The Telangana government has taken a major financial step to strengthen the Hyderabad Metro Rail project by securing a loan of nearly ₹13,600 crore from the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC).
According to officials, the funds will primarily be used for restructuring the existing debts of the L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail project. The move is expected to reduce the financial burden on the metro system through long-term loans at lower interest rates.
Authorities stated that converting high-interest liabilities into structured long-term financing would improve the financial stability of the metro project and support smoother operations in the coming years.
