Heavy winds and thunderstorms that lashed Hyderabad late Tuesday night disrupted drinking water supply in several parts of the city after power interruptions affected Manjeera Phase-I and Phase-II pumping stations.
Officials said the sudden weather disturbance caused the major water pumps to trip temporarily, impacting supply operations across multiple residential areas. Several colonies reported low-pressure water supply on Wednesday morning, while some areas experienced temporary outages.
According to authorities, fluctuations in the power network due to strong winds led to operational disruption at the pumping stations. Water board and electricity department teams immediately launched restoration works to resume normal supply at the earliest.
Residents in affected areas faced inconvenience during the early morning hours as supply schedules were disturbed. Officials advised citizens to use water carefully until full restoration is completed.
The incident comes at a time when Telangana is witnessing unstable weather conditions, with thunderstorms and rainfall following recent heatwave conditions in several districts.
