Bandi Bhagirath Moves Telangana High Court Seeking Interim Bail In POCSO Case
బీజేపీ ఎంపీ Bandi Sanjay Kumar కుమారుడు Bandi Bhagirath పోక్సో కేసులో మధ్యంతర బెయిల్ కోరుతూ Telangana High Court ను ఆశ్రయించారు. పేట్ బషీరాబాద్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్లో నమోదైన కేసులో తనకు మధ్యంతర బెయిల్ మంజూరు చేయాలని కోరుతూ వెకేషన్ బెంచ్లో పిటిషన్ దాఖలు చేశారు. ఈ పిటిషన్పై ఈ నెల 14న విచారణ జరగనుంది.
హైకోర్టుకు వేసవి సెలవులు కొనసాగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో వెకేషన్ బెంచ్ ముందుకు ఈ పిటిషన్ వచ్చింది. ప్రస్తుతం భగీరథ్ అందుబాటులో లేడని, అతని ఆచూకీ కోసం గాలిస్తున్నామని పోలీసులు వెల్లడించారు. ఇదే సమయంలో ఆయన హైకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించడం రాష్ట్ర రాజకీయాల్లో చర్చనీయాంశంగా మారింది.
ఈ కేసులో నిష్పక్షపాత విచారణ కోసం తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రత్యేక దర్యాప్తు బృందం (సిట్) ను ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. కూకట్పల్లి డీసీపీ రితిరాజ్ను విచారణ అధికారిగా నియమిస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది. బాధితురాలి స్టేట్మెంట్ను మరోసారి నమోదు చేయనున్నట్లు సమాచారం.
ఇక ఈ వ్యవహారం తెలంగాణ రాజకీయాల్లో వేడిని పెంచింది. బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వంపై విమర్శలు గుప్పిస్తున్నారు. కేసును నీరుగార్చే ప్రయత్నం జరుగుతోందని ఆరోపిస్తున్నారు. మాజీ మంత్రి T Harish Rao మాట్లాడుతూ సిట్ ఏర్పాటు ద్వారా రాజకీయ కుమ్మక్కు బయటపడిందని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
మరోవైపు, బాధితురాలు ఇచ్చిన ఫిర్యాదు ఆధారంగా పేట్ బషీరాబాద్ పోలీసులు భగీరథ్పై పోక్సో కేసు నమోదు చేశారు. అదే సమయంలో భగీరథ్పై కేసు నమోదు చేసిన యువతిపై కరీంనగర్లో హనీ ట్రాప్ కేసు నమోదవడం ఈ కేసుకు మరింత ప్రాధాన్యత తీసుకొచ్చింది.
మధ్యంతర బెయిల్ పిటిషన్పై హైకోర్టు ఎలాంటి నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటుందన్న అంశంపై రాజకీయ వర్గాలు, న్యాయవాదులు, ప్రజల్లో ఆసక్తి నెలకొంది.

Bandi Bhagirath, son of BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has approached the Telangana High Court seeking interim bail in the POCSO case registered against him at Pet Basheerabad Police Station.
Bhagirath filed a petition before the vacation bench of the High Court as summer holidays are currently underway. The petition is scheduled to come up for hearing on May 14. The development has intensified political attention surrounding the case in Telangana.
Police officials stated that Bhagirath is currently unavailable and efforts are underway to trace his whereabouts. At the same time, his move to seek interim bail from the High Court has become a major topic of discussion in political and legal circles.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure an impartial probe into the case. Kukatpally DCP Rithiraj has been appointed as the investigating officer. Officials are also expected to record the victim’s statement once again as part of the investigation.
The case has triggered sharp political reactions in the state. BRS leaders accused the Congress government of attempting to dilute the case. Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao alleged that the formation of the SIT exposed political coordination between rival parties.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim, Pet Basheerabad police booked Bhagirath under relevant sections of the POCSO Act. Simultaneously, a honey-trap case was reportedly registered in Karimnagar against the woman who filed the complaint.
Political observers and legal experts are closely watching the upcoming High Court hearing to see whether interim bail will be granted or whether the court will direct Bhagirath to cooperate fully with the SIT investigation.
