BRS Protests Erupt Across Telangana Over Grain Procurement Delays, Farmers Demand MSP

తెలంగాణలో ధాన్యం కొనుగోలు ఆలస్యంపై బీఆర్ఎస్ పార్టీ ఆందోళనలు తీవ్రతరం అయ్యాయి. వనపర్తి, జనగాం, నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లాల్లో రైతులతో కలిసి బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు నిరసనలు చేపట్టారు. ప్రభుత్వం రైతుల సమస్యలను పట్టించుకోవడం లేదని మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే చిట్టెం రామ్మోహన్ రెడ్డి ఆరోపించారు.
పంటలను ప్రభుత్వం సమయానికి కొనుగోలు చేయకపోవడంతో రైతులు తీవ్రంగా నష్టపోతున్నారని ఆయన తెలిపారు. కనీస మద్దతు ధర (MSP) వద్ద కొనుగోలు జరగకపోవడంతో మధ్యవర్తులకు తక్కువ ధరలకు అమ్మాల్సిన పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడిందని రైతులు ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
జనగాం, నిజామాబాద్ జిల్లాల్లో రైతులు రోడ్డుపై దిగిపడి రాస్తారోకోలు నిర్వహించారు. ధాన్యం కొనుగోలు కేంద్రాల్లో గన్నీ సంచుల కొరత, సేకరణలో ఆలస్యం వంటి సమస్యలను వారు ప్రస్తావించారు. కొన్నిచోట్ల పరిస్థితి ఉద్రిక్తంగా మారడంతో పోలీసులు జోక్యం చేసుకుని పరిస్థితిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకువచ్చారు.
ప్రభుత్వం వెంటనే చర్యలు తీసుకోకపోతే ఆందోళనలను మరింత ఉద్ధృతం చేస్తామని బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు హెచ్చరించారు. రైతుల సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించడంలో ప్రభుత్వం విఫలమైందని వారు ఆరోపించారు.

Protests by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) intensified across multiple districts in Telangana over alleged delays in grain procurement, with farmers joining the agitation in Wanaparthy, Jangaon, and Nizamabad.
Former MLA Chittem Ram Mohan Reddy accused the state government of neglecting farmers by failing to initiate timely procurement processes. He alleged that delays have forced farmers to sell their produce to middlemen at prices lower than the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Farmers staged demonstrations, including road blockades in Jangaon and Nizamabad districts, demanding immediate procurement at MSP. Protesters also highlighted key issues such as the shortage of gunny bags and delays in lifting paddy from procurement centres.
Police intervened in several locations to control the protests as tensions escalated. The opposition party warned that protests would intensify further if the government does not take immediate corrective measures.
The issue has brought renewed focus on agricultural procurement systems in Telangana and the challenges faced by farmers during peak harvest season.
