తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రైతుల కోసం కీలక కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రారంభించింది. “రైతు ముంగిట్లో శాస్త్రవేత్తలు” పేరుతో ప్రత్యేక అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాన్ని రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఇవాళ్టి నుంచి అమలు చేయనుంది. ఈ కార్యక్రమం మే 23 వరకు కొనసాగనుంది.
వ్యవసాయ శాఖ మంత్రి తుమ్మల నాగేశ్వరరావు మాట్లాడుతూ, రైతులకు శాస్త్రీయ వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులపై ప్రత్యక్షంగా అవగాహన కల్పించడమే ఈ కార్యక్రమం ప్రధాన లక్ష్యమని తెలిపారు. గ్రామాల్లోకి వెళ్లి రైతులతో నేరుగా సమావేశాలు నిర్వహించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం 200 ప్రత్యేక బృందాలను నియమించింది.
ఈ బృందాల్లో వ్యవసాయ యూనివర్శిటీ అధికారులు, విద్యార్థులు, వ్యవసాయ శాస్త్రవేత్తలు పాల్గొంటారు. వారు గ్రామాల్లో పర్యటిస్తూ రైతులతో సమావేశమై పంటల ఎంపిక, విత్తనాల వినియోగం, ఎరువుల సరైన వినియోగం, యూరియా వాడకాన్ని తగ్గించడం వంటి అంశాలపై సూచనలు ఇవ్వనున్నారు.
అదేవిధంగా సేంద్రీయ వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులు, సాగునీటి పొదుపు, తక్కువ నీటితో పండే పంటల సాగుపై ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి పెట్టనున్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా ఎల్నినో ప్రభావం ఉండే అవకాశాన్ని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని రైతులకు ముందస్తు సూచనలు అందించనున్నారు.
వ్యవసాయ శాఖ అధికారులు తెలిపిన వివరాల ప్రకారం, ఈ ఏడాది వర్షపాతం పరిస్థితులు మారే అవకాశం ఉన్నందున రైతులు నూనె గింజలు, ఆయిల్ పామ్, పప్పుధాన్యాల సాగు వైపు దృష్టి సారించాలని సూచించారు.
వాతావరణ పరిస్థితులకు అనుగుణంగా వ్యవసాయ శాస్త్రవేత్తల సలహాలు పాటిస్తూ పంటల సాగు చేపట్టాలని మంత్రి తుమ్మల నాగేశ్వరరావు రైతులకు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమం ద్వారా గ్రామీణ స్థాయిలో వ్యవసాయ ఉత్పాదకత పెరగడంతో పాటు రైతుల ఖర్చులు తగ్గే అవకాశముందని అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.

The Telangana government has launched a major outreach program for farmers titled “Scientists at Farmers’ Doorstep” to improve awareness of scientific farming practices across villages in the state. The special initiative begins today and will continue until May 23.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the main objective of the program is to provide direct scientific guidance to farmers at the village level. The government has formed 200 special teams to travel across villages and conduct meetings with farmers.
These teams include agricultural university officials, students, and agricultural scientists. They will interact directly with farmers and provide guidance on crop selection, seed usage, balanced fertilizer application, and reducing excessive urea consumption.
The teams will also focus on promoting organic farming methods, water conservation in irrigation, and cultivation of crops that require less water. Special attention is being given to climate preparedness due to the possible impact of El Niño this year.
Agriculture officials have advised farmers to consider shifting toward oilseeds, oil palm, and pulse crops, which can be cultivated with lower water requirements. This is being recommended in view of possible rainfall irregularities.
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao urged farmers to follow the advice of agricultural scientists and adopt crop planning based on weather conditions. Officials believe this initiative will help improve agricultural productivity and reduce farming costs across Telangana villages.
