తెలంగాణలో ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికులు సమ్మె హెచ్చరిక జారీ చేసిన నేపథ్యంలో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఈ నెల 22వ తేదీ నుంచి సమ్మె చేపడతామని కార్మిక సంఘాలు ప్రకటించడంతో ప్రభుత్వం సమస్యల పరిష్కారానికి ప్రత్యేక కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేసింది.
ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికులు తమ డిమాండ్లను వెంటనే పరిష్కరించాలని కోరుతూ సమ్మెకు సిద్ధమయ్యారు. ఈ పరిస్థితిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని సీనియర్ ఐఏఎస్ అధికారులతో ప్రత్యేక కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది.
రవాణా శాఖ ప్రత్యేక ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి ఈ కమిటీకి ఛైర్మన్గా వ్యవహరిస్తారు. ఆర్థిక శాఖ, కార్మిక శాఖల ప్రత్యేక ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శులు సభ్యులుగా ఉంటారు. టీజీఎస్ఆర్టీసీ వైస్ ఛైర్మన్ మరియు ఎండీ కన్వీనర్గా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తిస్తారు.
ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికుల సంక్షేమం, సంస్థ ఆర్థిక స్థితి, పెండింగ్ సమస్యలు, వేతనాలు, సేవా నిబంధనలు వంటి అంశాలపై ఈ కమిటీ సమగ్ర అధ్యయనం చేపట్టనుంది. నాలుగు వారాల్లో నివేదిక సమర్పించాలని ప్రభుత్వం ఆదేశించింది.
ఇప్పటికే ఆర్టీసీ జేఏసీ నేతలను చర్చలకు ఆహ్వానించిన యాజమాన్యం, సమ్మెను నివారించే దిశగా చర్యలు ప్రారంభించింది. ఆర్టీసీ ఈడీ వెంకన్న, సీపీఎం ఉషాదేవి నుంచి జేఏసీ నేతలకు పిలుపు వెళ్లింది.
తెలంగాణ రవాణా శాఖ మంత్రి Ponnam Prabhakar మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రభుత్వం కార్మికుల సమస్యలపై సానుకూల దృక్పథంతో ఉందన్నారు. ప్రజలకు అసౌకర్యం కలగకుండా, సమ్మె లేకుండా సమస్యలు పరిష్కరించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం కట్టుబడి ఉందని స్పష్టం చేశారు.
తెలంగాణ వ్యాప్తంగా రోజూ సుమారు 65 లక్షల మంది ప్రయాణికులు ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులపై ఆధారపడి ప్రయాణాలు చేస్తున్నారని మంత్రి గుర్తు చేశారు. ముఖ్యంగా గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో పేదలకు ఆర్టీసీ ప్రధాన రవాణా మార్గమని తెలిపారు.
ప్రజా రవాణా వ్యవస్థను కాపాడుతూ, కార్మికుల ప్రయోజనాలను కూడా పరిరక్షించేలా తుది నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటామని ప్రభుత్వం హామీ ఇచ్చింది.

The Telangana government has taken a key decision after RTC workers warned of a statewide strike from April 22. In view of the proposed bandh and strike call by employee unions, the state has formed a special high-level committee to resolve workers’ demands.
RTC workers have been demanding immediate resolution of pending service and welfare issues. As unions announced plans for an indefinite strike from midnight, the government responded by initiating talks and setting up a committee led by senior IAS officers.
The Special Chief Secretary of the Transport Department will serve as the chairman of the committee. Special Chief Secretaries from the Finance and Labour Departments will be members, while the TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director will function as the convener.
The committee will study key issues including employee welfare, salary-related demands, service conditions, pending benefits, and the financial sustainability of the RTC organization. The government has directed the panel to submit a detailed report within four weeks.
Meanwhile, RTC management has invited RTC JAC leaders for discussions to avoid disruption of public transport services. Senior officials including ED Venkanna and CPM Ushadevi have initiated dialogue with union representatives.
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the government is maintaining a positive approach toward resolving workers’ demands. He stated that ensuring uninterrupted bus services for passengers remains the top priority of the government.
The minister noted that nearly 65 lakh passengers depend on RTC buses daily across Telangana. He emphasized that public transport is especially crucial for poor and rural passengers and said both the government and RTC share responsibility in avoiding inconvenience to the public.
The government assured that while protecting the RTC institution, it will also safeguard the interests of employees and arrive at a balanced final decision after reviewing the committee’s report.
