ఈ సందర్భంగా విద్యా రంగానికి సంబంధించిన పలు ముఖ్య అంశాలపై చర్చ జరిగింది. ముఖ్యంగా వచ్చే జూన్ 12న ఎల్బీ స్టేడియంలో గవర్నర్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించనున్న అవగాహన కార్యక్రమంపై సమగ్రంగా చర్చించారు.
విద్యా సంస్థల్లో మాదక ద్రవ్యాల వినియోగాన్ని నియంత్రించేందుకు ప్రత్యేక అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టాల్సిన అవసరాన్ని గవర్నర్ ప్రస్తావించారు. విద్యార్థుల్లో మాదక ద్రవ్యాల దుష్ప్రభావాలపై స్పష్టమైన అవగాహన కల్పించాలని సూచించారు.
పాఠశాలలు, కళాశాలల్లో అడ్మిషన్ల సమయంలోనే విద్యార్థుల నుంచి మాదక ద్రవ్యాలకు దూరంగా ఉంటామని ప్రమాణపత్రం తీసుకోవాలని గవర్నర్ సూచించారు. అలాగే విద్యార్థులతో ప్రత్యేక ప్రమాణ స్వీకార కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించాలని కూడా సూచించారు.
గవర్నర్ సూచనలను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుని అవసరమైన చర్యలు చేపడతామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు. విద్యా రంగంలో సంస్కరణలతో పాటు యువతను మాదక ద్రవ్యాల బారిన పడకుండా కాపాడటం ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన లక్ష్యమని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan in a courtesy meeting to discuss key education sector issues and anti-drug awareness initiatives across educational institutions. Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Rajya Sabha MP Vemireddy Narender Reddy were also present during the meeting.
One of the major topics discussed was the awareness programme scheduled to be held on June 12 at Lal Bahadur Stadium under the Governor’s leadership. The programme will focus on student awareness and preventive action against drug abuse in schools and colleges.
The Governor emphasized the urgent need to strengthen awareness regarding narcotics control in educational institutions. He suggested that students should be educated about the harmful effects of drug abuse through structured awareness campaigns.
He also recommended that students should take a formal pledge during school and college admissions stating that they would stay away from narcotic substances. Special pledge-taking programmes for students were also suggested as part of the initiative.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured the Governor that the state government would consider these suggestions seriously and take necessary action. He said protecting youth from drug abuse while strengthening the education sector remains a key priority for the Telangana government.
