ఈ ఆదాయంలో ప్రధాన భాగం జీఎస్టీ ద్వారా వచ్చినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. జీఎస్టీ ద్వారా ₹43 వేల కోట్లకు పైగా ఆదాయం వచ్చినట్లు పేర్కొన్నారు. అలాగే పెట్రోల్, డీజిల్పై విధించే వ్యాట్ ద్వారా కూడా ప్రభుత్వానికి గణనీయమైన ఆదాయం లభించినట్లు చెప్పారు.
పన్ను వసూళ్లు పెరగడానికి ఆర్థిక కార్యకలాపాల పెరుగుదలతో పాటు పన్ను చెల్లింపుల పర్యవేక్షణను కట్టుదిట్టం చేయడం కూడా కారణమని అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు.
ఇంధనంపై వ్యాట్ తగ్గించే అవకాశం లేదని ప్రభుత్వం స్పష్టం చేసింది. రాష్ట్ర ఆర్థిక అవసరాలు మరియు సంక్షేమ పథకాల అమలు కోసం ఈ ఆదాయం అవసరమని తెలిపింది.

Telangana has recorded significant growth in commercial tax revenue during the 2025-26 financial year, with total collections crossing ₹78,000 crore, according to official data.
Officials said Goods and Services Tax (GST) contributed the largest share of the revenue, accounting for more than ₹43,000 crore. Value Added Tax (VAT) collected from petrol and diesel sales also formed a major component of the state’s tax income.
Authorities attributed the increase to improved tax compliance, enhanced monitoring mechanisms and higher economic activity across sectors. The government indicated that better enforcement and digitisation of tax systems also helped improve collections.
Officials clarified that reduction of VAT on fuel is currently not feasible due to fiscal priorities and the need to maintain steady revenue to support welfare schemes and development programmes.
Economic experts noted that the steady rise in revenue reflects improving financial activity and stronger tax compliance trends in Telangana. Final figures are expected to increase slightly after complete reconciliation of financial data.
