పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్ పర్యటన సందర్భంగా ప్రొటోకాల్ లోపాలు చోటుచేసుకున్నాయని రాష్ట్రపతి ద్రౌపదీ ముర్ము తెలిపారు. కోల్‌కతాలో జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో మాట్లాడుతూ ఉత్తర బెంగాల్‌లో నిర్వహించాల్సిన అంతర్జాతీయ ఆదివాసీ సదస్సుకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం అనుమతి ఇవ్వలేదని వెల్లడించారు. ఆ సదస్సుకు తాను ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరుకావాల్సి ఉన్నప్పటికీ అనుమతి నిరాకరించడాన్ని ప్రశ్నించారు.

రాష్ట్ర పర్యటనకు వచ్చిన తనకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి లేదా మంత్రుల నుంచి అధికారిక స్వాగతం లభించలేదని రాష్ట్రపతి పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రొటోకాల్ ప్రకారం రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వ ప్రతినిధులు స్వాగతం పలకాల్సి ఉంటుందని తెలిపారు.

అయితే ఈ ఘటనపై తనకు పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్ ప్రభుత్వంపై ఎలాంటి వ్యక్తిగత ద్వేషం లేదని స్పష్టం చేశారు. ముఖ్యమంత్రి మమతా బెనర్జీ తనకు సోదరితో సమానమని పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థలో పరస్పర గౌరవం, రాజ్యాంగ పరిరక్షణ ముఖ్యమని ఆమె తెలిపారు.

Speaking at an event in Kolkata, she said the state government had denied permission for an International Tribal Conference scheduled to be held in North Bengal, where she was supposed to attend as the chief guest.

The President also stated that during her official visit, she did not receive a formal welcome from the Chief Minister or state ministers, which is usually expected under established protocol.

However, Murmu clarified that she holds no personal grudge against the West Bengal government. She said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is like a sister to her and emphasized the importance of mutual respect and constitutional values in a democratic system.
