ప్రపంచ ఆర్థిక వేదిక దావోస్ సమావేశాల్లో తెలంగాణ నుంచి వచ్చిన కీలక ప్రతిపాదనగా, ప్రతి ఏడాది జూలైలో హైదరాబాద్లో వరల్డ్ ఎకనామిక్ ఫోరం ఫాలో-అప్ సమావేశం నిర్వహించాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి సూచించారు.
దావోస్లో జరిగిన “జాయిన్ ద రైజ్” కార్యక్రమంలో ఈ ప్రతిపాదనను ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ఉంచగా, ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న వ్యాపార నాయకులు, విధాన రూపకర్తలు ఏకగ్రీవంగా మద్దతు తెలిపారు. ఆధునిక వ్యాపార చక్రాల్లో ఒక సంవత్సరం గ్యాప్ చాలా ఎక్కువని, పెట్టుబడి నిర్ణయాలు వేగంగా తీసుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ఆయన అన్నారు. అందుకే జూలై లేదా ఆగస్టులో హైదరాబాద్లో వార్షిక ఫాలో-అప్ ఫోరమ్ నిర్వహించాలని కోరారు.
ఇటీవల నిర్వహించిన తెలంగాణ రైజింగ్ గ్లోబల్ సమ్మిట్ భారీ విజయాన్ని సాధించిందని, దాని ద్వారా రూ.5.75 లక్షల కోట్లకు పైగా పెట్టుబడులు ఆకర్షించామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు. సాధారణంగా దావోస్ వేదికపై అవగాహన ఒప్పందాలు కుదురుతాయని, అయితే ఈసారి గ్లోబల్ బిజినెస్ సమ్మిట్ విజయంతో తెలంగాణ తన విజన్, విధానాలను ప్రపంచానికి వివరించడంపై దృష్టి పెట్టిందని చెప్పారు.
డిసెంబర్ 2025లో భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీలో జరిగిన తెలంగాణ రైజింగ్ గ్లోబల్ సమ్మిట్ను ప్రస్తావించిన ముఖ్యమంత్రి, ఆ విజయానంతరం హైదరాబాద్లో డబ్ల్యూఈఎఫ్ ఫాలో-అప్ సమావేశం నిర్వహించే అంశంపై వరల్డ్ ఎకనామిక్ ఫోరంతో చర్చలు ప్రారంభించాలని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించిందని తెలిపారు.
2047 లక్ష్యాలతో రూపొందించిన వృద్ధి రూపరేఖను ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ప్రదర్శించడంతో పాటు, తెలంగాణ ఏఐ ఇన్నోవేషన్ హబ్, నెక్స్ట్-జెన్ లైఫ్ సైన్సెస్ పాలసీ 2026–2030ను కూడా ప్రారంభించారు. మంత్రులు శ్రీధర్ బాబు, పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి పాల్గొన్న ప్రతినిధి బృందం, రహదారులు, మెట్రో విస్తరణ, నదులు, సరస్సులు, నీటి వనరుల పునరుజ్జీవన ప్రాజెక్టులు వంటి కీలక అభివృద్ధి పనులను వివరించింది.
కొత్త ఆర్థిక మండలాలు, కొత్త నగర అభివృద్ధి, కొత్త తయారీ జోన్ ఏర్పాటు ద్వారా తెలంగాణను చైనా+1 ప్రత్యామ్నాయంగా నిలబెట్టే ప్రణాళికలను కూడా ప్రతినిధి బృందం వివరించింది. సాంకేతికత, పరిజ్ఞానం, అనుభవం, నైపుణ్యం పరంగా గ్లోబల్ కంపెనీల సహకారం కావాలని కోరింది.
హైదరాబాద్ ఇప్పటికే గ్లోబల్ క్యాపబిలిటీ సెంటర్లకు కేంద్రంగా ఎదిగిందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు. ముసీ నది రెండు వైపులా నైట్ టైమ్ ఎకానమీకి ప్రాధాన్యమిస్తూ, దేశంలోనే తొలి 24 గంటల నగరంగా హైదరాబాద్ను అభివృద్ధి చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. 30 వేల ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో, 50 శాతం గ్రీన్ కవర్తో, పూర్తిగా స్మార్ట్గా రూపుదిద్దుకుంటున్న భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీ ప్రపంచ స్థాయి నగరాలకు భారత సమాధానమని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి హాజరైన సినీ నటుడు చిరంజీవి ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలిచారు. తెలంగాణ పెట్టుబడి అవకాశాలను ప్రపంచానికి చాటే వేదికగా ఈ సమావేశం నిలిచిందని ప్రభుత్వ వర్గాలు తెలిపాయి.
A key proposal from Telangana at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Chief Minister suggested hosting an annual WEF follow-up meeting every July in Hyderabad to fast-track global business engagement and investment decisions.
Speaking at the “Join the Rise” event in Davos, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy proposed that the World Economic Forum organise a follow-up forum every July or August in Hyderabad. He said that in today’s fast-moving business environment, a one-year gap between WEF meetings is too long for effective follow-ups and timely investment decisions. The proposal received unanimous support from global business leaders and policymakers present at the event.
The Chief Minister said the recent Telangana Rising Global Summit had been a major success, attracting investments worth over ₹5.75 lakh crore. He noted that while Davos is traditionally a platform for signing MoUs, Telangana’s strong outcomes from the Global Business Summit have shifted the focus this year towards presenting the state’s long-term vision and policy framework to the global community.
Referring to the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at Bharat Future City in December 2025, he said the state has now decided to formally engage with the World Economic Forum to explore hosting the proposed follow-up meeting in Hyderabad. The summit showcased Telangana’s growth roadmap and Vision 2047, and also saw the launch of the Telangana AI Innovation Hub and the Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–2030.
The Telangana delegation, which included Ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, presented several game-changing projects to global stakeholders. These included large-scale road infrastructure, metro rail expansion, and the rejuvenation of rivers, lakes, and other water bodies. The delegation also outlined plans for new economic zones, the development of a new city, and the creation of a dedicated manufacturing zone to position Telangana as a strong China+1 alternative.
Highlighting the state’s investment potential, the delegation sought support from global companies in terms of technology, expertise, and knowledge partnerships. The Chief Minister pointed out that Hyderabad has emerged as a major global hub for Global Capability Centres. He added that the city is being developed as India’s first 24-hour operational city, with a special focus on promoting the night-time economy along both sides of the Musi river.
He further said that Bharat Future City is being developed as a fully smart, future-ready city spread across more than 30,000 acres, with over 50 per cent of the area reserved as green cover. The city, he said, is designed to be India’s answer to the world’s best urban developments.
The event also drew attention due to the presence of actor Chiranjeevi, who attended the dinner hosted alongside the programme. The discussions at Davos reinforced Telangana’s efforts to strengthen its global engagement and attract long-term investments.
