ప్రాథమిక విచారణలో ఇప్పటివరకు ఈ ముఠా సుమారు 25 మంది పసిపిల్లలను అక్రమంగా విక్రయించినట్లు తేలింది. ఈ వ్యవహారంలో అతడి భార్య కృష్ణవేణి కూడా కీలక పాత్ర పోషించినట్లు పోలీసులు గుర్తించారు. చిన్నారులను కొనుగోలు చేసే వారికి నమ్మకం కలిగించేందుకు నకిలీ పత్రాలు సృష్టించడం, మధ్యవర్తుల ద్వారా లావాదేవీలు జరపడం ఈ ముఠా ప్రధాన విధానంగా ఉంది.
ఈ కేసుతో సంబంధం ఉన్నట్లు భావిస్తున్న హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలోని కూకట్పల్లి, సికింద్రాబాద్, బంజారాహిల్స్ ప్రాంతాల్లోని మూడు ఫెర్టిలిటీ సెంటర్లపై గుజరాత్ పోలీసులు సోదాలు నిర్వహించారు. ఆయా కేంద్రాల రికార్డులను స్వాధీనం చేసుకుని, మురుగన్ గ్యాంగ్తో ఉన్న సంబంధాలపై విచారణ చేస్తున్నారు.
ప్రస్తుతం మురుగన్ గ్యాంగ్ సభ్యులు పోలీసుల కస్టడీలో ఉండగా, ఈ మాఫియాలో ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలకు చెందిన ముఠాల ప్రమేయంపై కూడా దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగుతోంది. అక్రమ రవాణాకు సహకరించిన డాక్టర్లు, మధ్యవర్తులపై కఠిన చర్యలు తీసుకునేందుకు పోలీసులు సిద్ధమవుతున్నారు.

A major child trafficking racket operating from Hyderabad has been busted by Gujarat Police, exposing a nationwide network involved in illegal sale of infants. The prime accused, identified as Murugan alias Nagaraju from Adilabad district, is said to have risen from a daily wage labourer to a key figure in child trafficking within a short span.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang allegedly sold over 25 infants across different states. Police also identified the involvement of Murugan’s wife, Krishnaveni, who reportedly managed a parallel network assisting in sourcing and trafficking children.
Authorities suspect that certain fertility centres in Hyderabad played a role in facilitating the illegal trade by helping create forged documents and building trust with prospective buyers. Based on these leads, Gujarat Police conducted searches at three fertility centres located in Kukatpally, Secunderabad, and Banjara Hills.
Officials have seized records from these centres and are examining financial links with the trafficking network. The investigation is currently expanding to identify other associates, including intermediaries, medical professionals, and document forgers.
With Murugan and key gang members in custody, police are probing interstate links of the racket, raising serious concerns over regulatory gaps in monitoring fertility services and child protection systems.
