Mobile phone users across India may soon face another financial burden as telecom companies move towards increasing recharge prices. After Airtel raised its tariffs, Vodafone Idea has also confirmed that it plans to revise its mobile recharge prices.

Vodafone Idea officially stated that it will increase mobile recharge tariff prices, although the company has not yet announced the exact percentage of the hike or the date of implementation. It clarified that the increase will be nominal.

Recently, Bharti Airtel increased its tariff plans by around 4 to 5 percent. One of its popular 84-day validity recharge plans moved from Rs 859 to Rs 899, placing an additional burden of Rs 50 on users.

Now, Vodafone Idea is also expected to follow a similar pricing strategy. As the third-largest telecom network after Jio and Airtel, this move is likely to affect lakhs of mobile users across the country.

Telecom sector experts believe that overall recharge prices may rise by nearly 15 percent this year. This could create a significant financial impact on common users who depend heavily on mobile data and calling services.

Vodafone Idea CEO Abhijit Kishore said the company remains confident about its business performance and added that lakhs of new subscribers joined the network during March.
