తెలంగాణలో రేషన్ కార్డుల కోసం ఎదురుచూస్తున్న కుటుంబాలకు ప్రభుత్వం కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఆగస్టు 15 స్వాతంత్ర్య దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డుల పంపిణీని ప్రారంభించనున్నట్లు సమాచారం. రాష్ట్ర పౌరసరఫరాల శాఖ పరిధిలో ప్రస్తుతం 1.06 కోట్లకు పైగా రేషన్ కార్డులు నమోదై ఉన్నట్లు అధికారిక AePDS గణాంకాలు చూపిస్తున్నాయి.
తెలంగాణలో స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డులు.. ఆగస్టు 15 నుంచే పంపిణీ?
తెలంగాణలో రేషన్ కార్డుల రూపురేఖలు మారనున్నాయి. ఇప్పటివరకు కాగితపు రేషన్ కార్డులు లేదా వాటి లామినేటెడ్ ప్రతులను ఉపయోగిస్తున్న కుటుంబాలకు బదులుగా పీవీసీ ఆధారిత స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డులను అందించే ప్రక్రియను ప్రభుత్వం చేపట్టనున్నట్లు సమాచారం. కొత్త కార్డులతో పాటు ఇప్పటికే ఉన్న కార్డుల వివరాలను కూడా అప్డేట్ చేసే అవకాశం ఉంది.
ఆగస్టు 15 స్వాతంత్ర్య దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రారంభించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు జరుగుతున్నట్లు అందిన సమాచారం. సంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా కేంద్రంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రారంభించి, అనంతరం రాష్ట్రంలోని 119 అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాల్లో పంపిణీ చేపట్టేలా ప్రణాళిక రూపొందించినట్లు పేర్కొంటున్నారు. అయితే ఈ పంపిణీ షెడ్యూల్పై తుది అధికారిక ప్రకటనను పౌరసరఫరాల శాఖ నుంచి నిర్ధారించుకోవడం అవసరం.
రాష్ట్రంలో రేషన్ కార్డుల సంఖ్య భారీగా ఉంది. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ AePDS పోర్టల్లో జూలై 2026 నాటికి 1,06,06,041 కార్డులు నమోదై ఉన్నట్లు అధికారిక గణాంకాలు వెల్లడిస్తున్నాయి.
స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డు ఎలా ఉంటుంది?
ప్రతిపాదిత స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డు ఏటీఎం లేదా డెబిట్ కార్డు తరహాలో పీవీసీ మెటీరియల్తో రూపొందించే విధంగా ఉంటుందని సమాచారం. పేపర్ కార్డులతో పోలిస్తే వీటిని జేబులో లేదా పర్సులో సులభంగా పెట్టుకోవచ్చు. నీటికి తడవడం, చిరిగిపోవడం వంటి సమస్యలు కూడా తక్కువగా ఉంటాయి.
కార్డుపై క్యూఆర్ కోడ్ ఉండేలా డిజైన్ చేసినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. దాన్ని స్కాన్ చేయడం ద్వారా కుటుంబ సభ్యుల వివరాలు, ఈ-కేవైసీ స్థితి, రేషన్కు సంబంధించిన సమాచారాన్ని డిజిటల్గా తెలుసుకునే విధానం ఉండొచ్చని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు.
ఎవరికి ప్రయోజనం?
ఇప్పటికే రేషన్ కార్డులు కలిగి ఉన్న కుటుంబాలతో పాటు ప్రభుత్వం కొత్తగా అర్హులుగా గుర్తించిన కుటుంబాలకు కూడా ఈ కార్డుల ద్వారా ప్రయోజనం కలిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. ముఖ్యంగా ప్రజాపాలన దరఖాస్తుల ద్వారా ఆహార భద్రత కార్డులకు అర్హత పొందిన వారు, ఆన్లైన్లో ఆమోదం పొందినా భౌతిక కార్డు అందని లబ్ధిదారులు ఈ ప్రక్రియలో ఉండే అవకాశం ఉంది.
తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం గతంలోనే అర్హులైన కుటుంబాలకు కొత్త రేషన్ కార్డులు జారీ చేసే ప్రక్రియను ప్రారంభించింది. 2025లో ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కొత్త ఫుడ్ సెక్యూరిటీ కార్డుల పంపిణీని అధికారికంగా ప్రారంభించారు.
రేషన్ కార్డుతో ఏం ప్రయోజనం?
రేషన్ కార్డు ద్వారా ప్రజా పంపిణీ వ్యవస్థలో ఆహార ధాన్యాలు పొందడంతో పాటు అర్హత ఆధారంగా పలు సంక్షేమ పథకాలకు లబ్ధి పొందే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ పౌరసరఫరాల శాఖ రేషన్ కార్డుల జారీ, ఈ-పిడీఎస్ అమలు, రేషన్ దుకాణాల పర్యవేక్షణ వంటి బాధ్యతలను నిర్వహిస్తోంది.
స్మార్ట్ కార్డులో డిజిటల్ వివరాలను అనుసంధానం చేయడం ద్వారా రేషన్ పంపిణీలో పారదర్శకత పెంచడం, బోగస్ కార్డులను గుర్తించడం, లబ్ధిదారుల వివరాలను సులభంగా ధృవీకరించడం వంటి ప్రయోజనాలు కలిగే అవకాశం ఉంది.
కార్డు కోసం ఏం చేయాలి?
మీ రేషన్ కార్డులో కుటుంబ సభ్యుల వివరాలు సరిగ్గా ఉన్నాయో లేదో ముందుగా పరిశీలించుకోవడం మంచిది. సభ్యులందరికీ ఈ-కేవైసీ పూర్తయిందా లేదా కూడా తనిఖీ చేసుకోవాలి. అవసరమైతే సమీపంలోని రేషన్ డీలర్ లేదా సంబంధిత పౌరసరఫరాల అధికారులను సంప్రదించి వివరాలను అప్డేట్ చేసుకోవచ్చు.
అయితే స్మార్ట్ రేషన్ కార్డు పొందేందుకు ప్రత్యేకంగా కొత్త దరఖాస్తు చేయాలి, ఫీజు చెల్లించాలి లేదా తప్పనిసరిగా ఎక్కడైనా వెళ్లి నమోదు చేసుకోవాలి అనే విషయంపై అధికారిక మార్గదర్శకాలు వెలువడే వరకు ఎలాంటి అనధికార సమాచారాన్ని నమ్మకపోవడం మంచిది.
తెలంగాణలో కుటుంబ డిజిటల్ కార్డుల ఆలోచనపై ప్రభుత్వం గతంలోనే పనిచేసింది. 2024లో ప్రభుత్వం రేషన్, ఆరోగ్యం, ఇతర సంక్షేమ పథకాలను ఒకే డిజిటల్ కార్డు ద్వారా అనుసంధానించే ప్రతిపాదనను పరిశీలించినట్లు అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించింది.
Telangana Smart Ration Cards: Distribution Likely to Begin on August 15
The Telangana government is preparing to introduce PVC-based smart ration cards for eligible beneficiaries, with distribution reportedly planned around Independence Day on August 15. The move is aimed at modernising ration-card services and making beneficiary verification more efficient.
The proposed smart ration cards are expected to replace the dependence on paper copies and laminated photocopies. Designed in a compact PVC format similar to debit or other identity cards, the cards are expected to be easier to carry and more durable.
According to Telangana’s official AePDS portal, the state had 1,06,06,041 ration cards as of July 2026, highlighting the scale of the public distribution system.
The proposed cards are expected to carry a QR code that can help officials or ration dealers access beneficiary-related information digitally. This could include family details and e-KYC-related information, subject to the final design and implementation guidelines issued by the Civil Supplies Department.
The initiative is expected to benefit existing eligible ration-card holders as well as beneficiaries who have been newly approved for food-security cards but have not yet received a physical card.
The Telangana government has already undertaken a process to issue new ration cards to eligible families. In 2025, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy formally launched the distribution of new Food Security Cards.
Ration cards play an important role in the state’s public distribution system and are also used for determining eligibility under several welfare programmes. The Civil Supplies Department is responsible for issuing ration cards and implementing the e-PDS system in the state.
Beneficiaries should verify whether the details of all family members are correctly recorded and whether the required e-KYC process has been completed. Any corrections should be made through authorised Civil Supplies channels.
The exact distribution schedule, beneficiary lists, collection centres and procedures should be confirmed through official announcements from the Telangana Civil Supplies Department.
