తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర రోడ్డు రవాణా సంస్థ (టీజీఎస్ఆర్టీసీ)లో కార్మికుల సమ్మె బుధవారం ఉదయం నుంచి ప్రారంభమైంది. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వంతో జరిగిన చర్చలు విఫలమవడంతో ఆర్టీసీ జేఏసీ సమ్మెకు పిలుపునిచ్చింది. దీంతో రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా బస్సులు డిపోలకే పరిమితమయ్యాయి.
ఉదయం నుంచే పలు జిల్లాల్లో ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికులు డిపోల ఎదుట ఆందోళనలు చేపట్టారు. తమ సమస్యలను వెంటనే పరిష్కరించాలని ప్రభుత్వాన్ని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఉమ్మడి కరీంనగర్ జిల్లాలో 11 డిపోల పరిధిలో దాదాపు వెయ్యికిపైగా బస్సులు నిలిచిపోయాయి.
పెద్దపల్లి జిల్లాలో 150 బస్సులు డిపోలకే పరిమితమయ్యాయి. సిద్దిపేట జిల్లా హుస్నాబాద్లో కార్మికులు డిపో ఎదుట నిరసన చేపట్టారు. మహబూబ్నగర్లో 112 బస్సులు నిలిచిపోయాయి. ప్రయాణికుల ఇబ్బందులను తగ్గించేందుకు అధికారులు 16 విద్యుత్ బస్సులను ప్రత్యామ్నాయంగా నడిపిస్తున్నారు.
పలు ప్రాంతాల్లో ప్రైవేట్ డ్రైవర్లతో ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులను నడిపించే ప్రయత్నాలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. అయితే సమ్మెలో ఉన్న కార్మికులు అలాంటి బస్సులను అడ్డుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలో సాధ్యమైనంత ఎక్కువ బస్సులు నడిపేందుకు అధికారులు ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి పెట్టారు.
బస్సుల బంద్ కారణంగా ప్రయాణికులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు. ఉదయం బస్టాండ్లకు చేరుకున్న ప్రయాణికులు బస్సులు లేకపోవడంతో ప్రైవేట్ వాహనాలను ఆశ్రయిస్తున్నారు. దీంతో ప్రయాణ ఖర్చులు కూడా పెరిగాయి.
ఇక ఆర్టీసీ ఉద్యోగుల సమస్యల పరిష్కారంలో ప్రభుత్వం సానుకూలంగా ఉందని ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీ నాగిరెడ్డి తెలిపారు. కార్మికుల డిమాండ్లలో కొన్ని ఆర్థికపరంగా క్లిష్టమైనవని, వాటిని పరిష్కరించేందుకు కనీసం నాలుగు వారాల సమయం అవసరమని చెప్పారు. దశలవారీగా సమస్యలను పరిష్కరిస్తామని, ఉద్యోగులు విధులకు హాజరై సహకరించాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.

The strike by employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) began on Wednesday morning after talks between the RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) and the State government failed. As a result, bus services across Telangana were severely affected, with most buses remaining restricted to depots.
RTC workers staged protests in front of depots across several districts, demanding immediate resolution of their long-pending issues. In the combined Karimnagar district alone, more than 1,000 buses across 11 RTC depots remained off the roads.
In Peddapalli district, nearly 150 buses were confined to depots. RTC employees also held protests in front of the Husnabad depot in Siddipet district. In Mahabubnagar, 112 buses remained halted, while officials arranged 16 electric buses as an alternative service for passengers.
Authorities are attempting to operate RTC buses using private drivers in some regions to reduce passenger inconvenience. However, striking workers are reportedly stopping such services in several places. Special focus has been placed on Hyderabad city to ensure maximum bus movement wherever possible.
Passengers faced major inconvenience due to the shutdown. Many people who reached bus stations early in the morning were forced to depend on private vehicles after finding no RTC buses available, leading to higher travel expenses.
Meanwhile, TGSRTC Managing Director Nagireddy stated that the State government is positive about resolving employee issues. He said some demands involve financial and complex administrative matters, which require at least four weeks for proper resolution. He appealed to employees to return to duty and cooperate with the government while discussions continue.
