ఖమ్మం: పచ్చి మిర్చి, ఎర్ర మిర్చి గురించి అందరికీ తెలుసు. కానీ నల్ల రంగులో ఉండే మిరపకాయలు ఇప్పుడు ఖమ్మం నగరంలో స్థానికుల దృష్టిని ఆకర్షిస్తున్నాయి. ఖమ్మం–వరంగల్ బైపాస్ రోడ్డులోని ఎదులాపురంలో ఓ కిరాణా దుకాణంలో విక్రయానికి ఉంచిన ఈ ప్రత్యేక మిరపకాయలు ఆసక్తికర చర్చకు దారితీశాయి.

దుకాణ యజమాని నాగవాణి తెలిపిన వివరాల ప్రకారం, ఆమె తండ్రి లక్ష్మణ్ కుమార్ శర్మ పూజా కార్యక్రమాల నిమిత్తం కేరళ, ఒడిశా, ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్ వంటి రాష్ట్రాలకు వెళ్తుంటారు. ఈ క్రమంలో ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్ నుంచి నల్ల మిరపకాయలను ఖమ్మంకు తీసుకొచ్చినట్లు ఆమె తెలిపారు.
వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో లభించే ప్రత్యేకమైన వస్తువులను స్థానిక ప్రజలకు పరిచయం చేయాలనే ఉద్దేశంతో వాటిని దుకాణంలో విక్రయానికి ఉంచినట్లు వివరించారు.
రంగు నలుపు.. ఘాటు ఎక్కువట!
ఈ మిరపకాయల నలుపు రంగు వినియోగదారులను ఆకర్షిస్తోంది. సాధారణ మిరపకాయలతో పోలిస్తే వీటిలో ఘాటు ఎక్కువగా ఉంటుందని విక్రేతలు చెబుతున్నారు. అయితే, ఈ విషయాన్ని నిర్ధారించే స్వతంత్ర శాస్త్రీయ సమాచారం అందుబాటులో లేదు.

Black Chillies Brought from Chhattisgarh
According to shop owner Nagavani, her father, Lakshman Kumar Sharma, frequently visits states such as Kerala, Odisha and Chhattisgarh for religious rituals. During a visit to Chhattisgarh, he brought the distinctive black chillies to Khammam.
The family said the intention was to introduce unusual products available in other regions to local customers by making them available at their shop.
Distinctive Colour Draws Attention
The chillies stand out because of their unusual black colour. According to the sellers, they are hotter than ordinary chillies, although this claim has not been independently verified.
The unusual appearance has prompted curiosity among local residents, making the chillies a talking point in Yedulapuram.
