The Telangana government has initiated steps to reclaim nearly 25,000 acres of assigned agricultural land for industrial and infrastructure development projects, according to official-level reports. Authorities indicated that large portions of land, particularly in Ranga Reddy district and the Hyderabad region, have already been resumed by the government.
Officials stated that the land is proposed to be utilized for industrial expansion through Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) and other public agencies. The assigned lands were originally allotted to landless farmers, but authorities reportedly found that several parcels were transferred illegally over the years.
