హైదరాబాద్: సికింద్రాబాద్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్ దేశంలో అత్యధిక వార్షిక ఆదాయం, అత్యంత రద్దీ కలిగిన రైల్వే స్టేషన్లలో టాప్-4లో నిలిచి ప్రత్యేక గుర్తింపు సాధించిందని కేంద్ర మంత్రి జి. కిషన్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు.
గత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో సికింద్రాబాద్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్ ద్వారా సుమారు 2.78 కోట్ల మంది ప్రయాణికులు రాకపోకలు సాగించారని ఆయన వెల్లడించారు. అదే సమయంలో స్టేషన్ ఏకంగా రూ.1,276.29 కోట్ల ఆదాయాన్ని ఆర్జించిందని తెలిపారు.
ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ భారతాలను అనుసంధానించే కీలకమైన రైల్వే కేంద్రంగా సికింద్రాబాద్ స్టేషన్ తన ప్రాధాన్యతను నిరూపించుకుందని కిషన్ రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. భారీ సంఖ్యలో ప్రయాణికుల రాకపోకలతో పాటు గణనీయమైన ఆదాయం సాధించడం స్టేషన్ ప్రాముఖ్యతను తెలియజేస్తుందని అన్నారు.
ప్రయాణికులకు అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయి సదుపాయాలు కల్పించే లక్ష్యంతో సికింద్రాబాద్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్ ఆధునీకరణ పనులను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం వేగవంతం చేసిందని తెలిపారు. ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ నాయకత్వంలోని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం రూ.714 కోట్ల అంచనా వ్యయంతో ఈ ఆధునీకరణ పనులను చేపట్టిందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఆధునీకరణ పనులు త్వరలో పూర్తికానున్న నేపథ్యంలో ప్రయాణికులకు అత్యాధునిక మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నాయని కిషన్ రెడ్డి తెలిపారు. స్టేషన్ అభివృద్ధితో ప్రయాణికుల సౌకర్యాలు మరింత మెరుగుపడటంతో పాటు సికింద్రాబాద్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్ కీలక రవాణా కేంద్రంగా మరింత బలోపేతం కానుంది.

Hyderabad: Secunderabad Railway Station has secured a place among the top four busiest railway stations in India in terms of annual revenue and passenger footfall, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said.
The station handled approximately 2.78 crore passenger movements during the last financial year and generated revenue of Rs.1,276.29 crore, highlighting its importance as one of the country’s major railway hubs.
Kishan Reddy said Secunderabad Railway Station has established itself as a crucial connectivity centre linking northern and southern India. The high passenger traffic and substantial revenue underline the station’s significance in the country’s railway network.
The Union Government has accelerated the modernisation works at Secunderabad Railway Station with the objective of providing international-standard facilities to passengers. The redevelopment project is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.714 crore under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The modernisation works are expected to be completed soon, after which passengers will have access to upgraded and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The redevelopment is expected to further improve passenger convenience and strengthen Secunderabad Railway Station as a major transportation hub.
