మహాత్మా గాంధీ జయంతి సందర్భంగా హైదరాబాద్‌ లంగర్‌హౌస్‌లోని బాపూఘాట్‌లో గాంధీజీకి పుష్పాంజలి ఘటించారు. గాంధీజీ చూపిన సత్యం, అహింస, శాంతి మార్గాలను స్మరించుకుంటూ అక్టోబర్‌ 2న గాంధీ జయంతి కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.
బాపూఘాట్‌ హైదరాబాద్‌లోని చారిత్రక గాంధీ స్మారక ప్రదేశాల్లో ఒకటి. ఇక్కడ మూసీ, ఈసీ నదుల సంగమ ప్రాంతంలో మహాత్మా గాంధీ చితాభస్మాన్ని 1948లో నిమజ్జనం చేశారు. అక్టోబర్‌ 2న బాపూఘాట్‌లో గాంధీజీకి నివాళులు అర్పించే కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీగా కొనసాగుతోంది.
తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్‌ రెడ్డి, గవర్నర్‌ శివ ప్రతాప్‌ శుక్లా తదితరులు శుక్రవారం బాపూఘాట్‌లో మహాత్మా గాంధీకి నివాళులర్పించినట్లు ఈరోజు ప్రచురితమైన వార్తా నివేదికలు వెల్లడించాయి. ఈ సందర్భంగా డిజిటల్‌ మ్యూజియాన్ని కూడా ప్రారంభించారు.
అక్టోబర్‌ 2ను భారతదేశంలో గాంధీ జయంతిగా నిర్వహించడంతో పాటు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా అంతర్జాతీయ అహింసా దినోత్సవంగా కూడా పాటిస్తారు. ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి 2007లో అక్టోబర్‌ 2ను అంతర్జాతీయ అహింసా దినోత్సవంగా ప్రకటించింది.

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, floral tributes were paid to him at Bapu Ghat in Langer Houz, Hyderabad. Gandhi Jayanti is observed on October 2 every year to commemorate Gandhi’s birth anniversary and remember his principles of truth, non-violence and peace.
Bapu Ghat is one of Hyderabad’s important memorial sites associated with Mahatma Gandhi. It is located at the confluence of the Musi and Esi rivers, where Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in 1948.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and other public representatives paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat on Friday, according to reports published on October 2. The Governor and Chief Minister also inaugurated a digital museum at the memorial.
October 2 is observed in India as Gandhi Jayanti and globally as the International Day of Non-Violence. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution in 2007 designating October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence.
