Balapur Ganesh Laddu Auction 2026: New Record at ₹39 Lakh in Hyderabad
హైదరాబాద్లో ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన బాలాపూర్ గణేశుడి లడ్డూ ప్రసాదం వేలంలో సరికొత్త రికార్డు నమోదైంది. శుక్రవారం జరిగిన వేలంలో సామ ప్రణీత్ రెడ్డి రూ.39 లక్షలకు లడ్డూను దక్కించుకున్నారు. గతేడాది నమోదైన రూ.35 లక్షల రికార్డును ఈసారి అధిగమించారు.
బాలాపూర్ గణేశ్ ఉత్సవ సమితి ఆధ్వర్యంలో వేలం ప్రారంభ ధరను రూ.1,116గా నిర్ణయించింది. పలువురు స్థానికులు, ఇతర ప్రాంతాల నుంచి వచ్చిన వారు, విదేశాల్లో ఉన్న వ్యక్తులు కూడా వేలంలో పాల్గొనడంతో పోటీ ఆసక్తికరంగా సాగింది.
చివరకు అర్బన్ గ్రూప్ అధినేత సామ ప్రణీత్ రెడ్డి రూ.39 లక్షల అత్యధిక బిడ్తో లడ్డూను సొంతం చేసుకున్నారు. గతేడాది కర్మన్ఘాట్కు చెందిన లింగాల దశరథ్ గౌడ్ రూ.35 లక్షలకు బాలాపూర్ లడ్డూను దక్కించుకున్నారు.
బాలాపూర్ లడ్డూ వేలం సంప్రదాయం 1994లో ప్రారంభమైంది. ఆ ఏడాది స్థానిక రైతు కొలను మోహన్ రెడ్డి రూ.450కు లడ్డూను దక్కించుకున్నారు. అప్పటి నుంచి దాదాపు ప్రతి ఏడాది వేలం ధర పెరుగుతూ వచ్చింది.
2020లో కరోనా పరిస్థితుల కారణంగా వేలం నిర్వహించలేదు. 2021లో రూ.18.90 లక్షల నుంచి ధర మళ్లీ పెరుగుతూ 2022లో రూ.24.60 లక్షలు, 2023లో రూ.27 లక్షలు, 2024లో రూ.30.01 లక్షలు, 2025లో రూ.35 లక్షలకు చేరింది.
ఈ ఏడాది రూ.39 లక్షలకు చేరుకోవడంతో బాలాపూర్ లడ్డూ వేలం చరిత్రలో కొత్త గరిష్ఠ ధర నమోదైంది. బాలాపూర్ ప్రాంతంలో లడ్డూ ప్రసాదాన్ని వేలంలో దక్కించుకోవడం ద్వారా ఆరోగ్యం, సంపద, శ్రేయస్సు కలుగుతుందనే విశ్వాసం ఉందని స్థానికులు చెబుతున్నారు.
The famous Balapur Ganesh laddu in Hyderabad fetched a record ₹39 lakh at the auction held on Friday. Urban Group head Sama Praneeth Reddy emerged as the successful bidder, surpassing last year’s record bid of ₹35 lakh by ₹4 lakh.
The Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi began the auction with a base bid of ₹1,116. Several local participants and other bidders took part in the auction, leading to intense competition.
Sama Praneeth Reddy eventually won the laddu with the highest bid of ₹39 lakh. In 2025, Lingala Dasharath Goud from Karmanghat had secured the Balapur Ganesh laddu for ₹35 lakh.
The tradition of auctioning the Balapur Ganesh laddu dates back to 1994. In the first successful auction that year, local farmer Kolan Mohan Reddy bought the laddu for ₹450.
The auction was cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The bid subsequently rose from ₹18.90 lakh in 2021 to ₹24.60 lakh in 2022, ₹27 lakh in 2023, ₹30.01 lakh in 2024 and ₹35 lakh in 2025.
With this year’s ₹39 lakh bid, the Balapur Ganesh laddu has registered its highest-ever auction price. Local devotees traditionally associate winning the laddu auction with health, prosperity and good fortune.
