ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి పదవికి జగదీప్ ధన్ఖడ్ రాజీనామా చేసిన తరువాత ఆ పదవిని ఎవరు భర్తీ చేస్తారన్న ప్రశ్నపై ఆసక్తి నెలకొంది. తాజాగా ఎన్డిఎ మహారాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్గా పనిచేస్తున్న సిపి రాధాకృష్ణన్ను తమ ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి అభ్యర్థిగా ప్రకటించింది. ఈ నేపధ్యంలో, ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి ఎన్నికలు లేకుండానే ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎంపిక జరగాలని మోదీ కోరారు.
కేంద్ర మంత్రి కిరణ్ రిజిజు ప్రకారం, ప్రధాని మోదీ ప్రతిపక్షాలందరికీ రాధాకృష్ణన్కు మద్దతు ఇవ్వాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. పార్లమెంట్లోని బాలయోగి ఆడిటోరియంలో జరిగిన ఎన్డిఎ ఎంపీల సమావేశంలో రాధాకృష్ణన్ను అధికారికంగా పరిచయం చేశారు. అనంతరం ప్రధాని మరియు కేంద్ర మంత్రులు ఆయన్ని సన్మానించారు.

After Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice President, speculation arose over who would take up the position. The NDA has now announced CP Radhakrishnan, currently serving as Governor of Maharashtra, as its candidate. In this context, Modi urged that the new Vice President should be chosen unanimously without an election.
According to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Modi requested all opposition parties to extend their support to Radhakrishnan. At a meeting of NDA MPs held at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament, Radhakrishnan was formally introduced. Later, the Prime Minister and Union Ministers felicitated him.
