Even though the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) has issued clear warnings, political circles and the public are questioning why equal priority is not being given to all projects, while criticism is centred only on Medigadda barrage.
Ignoring the fact that repairs after construction are normal for any project, targeting just two pillars of Medigadda and linking it to allegations of commissions has drawn strong criticism. As Jurala, Manjeera, and Singur are crucial for drinking and irrigation needs in the state, experts stress the need for urgent repairs on a war footing. There is a growing consensus that every project serving public needs should be safeguarded as a top priority.
