Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand praised the Ekta Parade held at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In a post shared through his official account, Anand described it as one of the best parades he had witnessed in more than three decades. He attended the event with his wife.
The parade began with an initial drill, followed by a march past featuring contingents from the forces of various states that had fought Naxalites and Maoists over the past five decades. Anand particularly appreciated the Telangana Greyhounds contingent, noting the energy and war cries with which its personnel marched.
Musical and dance performances depicting Maoism and its elimination formed part of the programme. Tableaux showcased different states and highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s role in the unification of India.
The celebrations concluded with a choreographed unity dance featuring performers from all states, followed by a fireworks display. Anand said the parade stood out for its elaborate arrangements, ceremonial grandeur and presentation of national unity.
