The Telangana government has introduced a new generation of security paper for certificates issued through MeeSeva centres, aiming to improve document durability and prevent forgery. IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu launched the new paper at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The paper incorporates 15 advanced security features designed to prevent counterfeit certificates and unauthorised duplication. Officials said the upgraded material would help citizens preserve important government documents for longer periods.
15 Security Features to Prevent Forgery
The new MeeSeva certificate paper has been developed using specialised technology. It is designed to resist tearing, water damage and deterioration caused by regular handling, folding and long-term storage.
The government has withheld details of the individual security features for security reasons. The initiative is intended to strengthen the authenticity and reliability of certificates issued through government service centres.
Reduced Need for Lamination
Birth and death certificates, educational documents and other official certificates are important records that citizens may need to preserve for decades.
The improved durability of the new paper is expected to reduce the need for plastic lamination under normal conditions. This could make document preservation more convenient while helping certificates remain in good condition for longer.
New Paper Replaces the Earlier Security Paper
MeeSeva certificates have been printed on specialised security paper since 2011. The newly introduced paper upgrades the existing system with improved durability and anti-counterfeiting safeguards.
The initiative is part of the Telangana government’s efforts to improve the quality, security and reliability of public services through modern technology.
