హైదరాబాద్లో సైబర్ నేరాలపై ప్రజల్లో అవగాహన కల్పించేందుకు తెలంగాణ సైబర్ సెక్యూరిటీ బ్యూరో ఆధ్వర్యంలో నెక్లెస్ రోడ్డులోని పీపుల్స్ ప్లాజా వద్ద 2 కిలోమీటర్ల రాత్రి అవగాహన వాక్ నిర్వహించారు. అక్టోబర్ సైబర్ సెక్యూరిటీ అవేర్నెస్ నెల ప్రారంభంలో భాగంగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించారు.
“సైబర్ సెక్యూరిటీ ఫ్లాష్ – పాజ్ ఫర్ సేఫ్టీ” పేరుతో జరిగిన ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి తెలంగాణ డీజీపీ సీవీ ఆనంద్ ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరై వాక్ను ప్రారంభించారు. నటుడు అడివి శేష్ గౌరవ అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్నారు. సుమారు 3,000 మంది ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్నట్లు టైమ్స్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా తెలిపింది.
పాల్గొన్నవారు మొబైల్ ఫోన్ ఫ్లాష్లైట్లు, ఎల్ఈడీ రిస్ట్బ్యాండ్లను ఉపయోగిస్తూ సైబర్ భద్రతపై అవగాహన కల్పించారు. “పాజ్.. థింక్.. వెరిఫై” అనే సందేశంతో ప్రజలు అపరిచిత సందేశాలు, కాల్స్, లింకులు లేదా ఆన్లైన్ ఆఫర్లకు స్పందించే ముందు జాగ్రత్తగా వ్యవహరించాలని సూచించారు.
సైబర్ మోసాల్లో నకిలీ పెట్టుబడి పథకాలు, ఓటీపీ మోసాలు, పార్సెల్ మోసాలు, డిజిటల్ అరెస్ట్ వంటి పద్ధతులను నేరగాళ్లు ఉపయోగిస్తున్నారని డీజీపీ సీవీ ఆనంద్ తెలిపారు. బ్యాంకులు, ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థలు వినియోగదారుల నుంచి ఓటీపీలు అడగవని ఆయన హెచ్చరించారు.
తెలంగాణ సైబర్ సెక్యూరిటీ బ్యూరో డైరెక్టర్ శిఖా గోయల్ మాట్లాడుతూ సైబర్ నేరాల సంఖ్య 11 శాతం, సైబర్ మోసాల వల్ల జరిగిన ఆర్థిక నష్టం 20 శాతం తగ్గినట్లు తెలిపారు. అక్టోబర్ 31 వరకు రాష్ట్రంలోని వివిధ జిల్లాల్లో అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు కొనసాగనున్నాయి.

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau conducted a 2-km night awareness walk at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road in Hyderabad as part of the launch of Cyber Security Awareness Month. The event was organised under the theme “Pause for Safety.”
Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand was the chief guest and flagged off the “Cyber Security Flash” walk. Actor Adivi Sesh attended the programme as the guest of honour. Around 3,000 people participated in the awareness initiative, according to The Times of India.
Participants used mobile phone flashlights and LED wristbands during the night walk to spread awareness about cyber safety. The central message of the campaign was “Pause, Think and Verify,” urging citizens to be cautious before responding to suspicious calls, messages, links or online offers.
DGP C.V. Anand said cybercriminals were using methods including fake investment schemes, OTP fraud, parcel scams and digital arrest tactics to target victims. He also stressed that banks and government agencies do not ask customers for OTPs.
TGCSB Director Shikha Goel said cybercrime cases in Telangana had declined by 11 per cent, while losses from cyber fraud had fallen by 20 per cent. Awareness programmes are scheduled across Telangana districts through October 31
