భూటాన్లో మూడు రోజుల పర్యటనలో భాగంగా భారత ప్రధాన ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్ జ్ఞానేశ్ కుమార్ మంగళవారం పారో అంతర్జాతీయ విమానాశ్రయానికి చేరుకున్నారు. భూటాన్ జాతీయ ఓటర్ల దినోత్సవం 2026 కార్యక్రమానికి ఆయన ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరుకానున్నారు.

Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar arrived at Paro International Airport on Tuesday as part of his three-day visit to Bhutan. He is scheduled to attend Bhutan’s National Voters’ Day 2026 as the Chief Guest.
Gyanesh Kumar was received at the airport by Bhutan’s Chief Election Commissioner Deki Pema, senior officials of the Election Commission of Bhutan and India’s Ambassador to Bhutan Sandeep Arya.
The National Voters’ Day celebration will be held at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law in Paro, where Gyanesh Kumar will attend the programme as Chief Guest, according to official details reported by DD News.
The visit is aimed at further strengthening institutional cooperation between the Election Commission of India and the Election Commission of Bhutan. Electoral management, democratic processes and the exchange of experience are expected to remain important areas of engagement during the visit.
As part of his three-day programme, Gyanesh Kumar is also scheduled to meet the King of Bhutan. On September 16, he will call on Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay in Thimphu and interact with senior civil servants
