2026లో ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఐడీఈఏ సభ్య దేశాల మండలికి భారత్ చైర్‌గా వ్యవహరిస్తోంది. ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ సంస్థల స్వతంత్రత, వృత్తి నైపుణ్యాన్ని బలోపేతం చేయడం భారత్ చైర్‌షిప్‌లోని ప్రధాన అంశాల్లో ఒకటిగా ఉంది.

Chief Election Commissioner of India and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, met Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Agustin Caucino, in New Delhi.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation in line with the vision outlined at IICDEM 2026.

The two sides also agreed to work closely to deepen cooperation in election management and the training of election personnel.

India is serving as Chair of the Council of Member States of International IDEA in 2026. Strengthening the independence and professionalism of electoral management bodies is one of the key pillars of India’s chairship.
