Gyanesh Kumar Meets Guyana Envoy; Election Cooperation Discussed
న్యూఢిల్లీలో భారత ప్రధాన ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్, ఇంటర్నేషనల్ IDEA సభ్య దేశాల మండలి చైర్మన్ జ్ఞానేశ్ కుమార్తో గయానా హైకమిషనర్ ధర్మకుమార్ సీరాజ్ సమావేశమయ్యారు. ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ, ఎన్నికల సిబ్బంది శిక్షణలో ఇరు దేశాల మధ్య సహకారాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు.
నిర్వాచన్ సదన్లో జరిగిన ఈ సమావేశంలో భారత్–గయానా ప్రజాస్వామ్య సహకారాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేయడంపై చర్చించారు. IICDEM 2026లో ప్రతిపాదించిన దృక్పథానికి అనుగుణంగా ప్రజాస్వామ్య విలువలను బలోపేతం చేయడంలో కలిసి పనిచేయాలనే ఉమ్మడి నిబద్ధతను ఇరు పక్షాలు పునరుద్ఘాటించాయి.
ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణకు సంబంధించిన అంశాల్లో పరస్పర సహకారాన్ని పెంచుకోవడంతో పాటు ఎన్నికల సిబ్బందికి శిక్షణ అందించే విషయంలోనూ కలిసి పనిచేయాలని అంగీకరించారు. ఈ సహకారం ద్వారా ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియల నిర్వహణలో అనుభవాలు, నైపుణ్యాల మార్పిడికి అవకాశం కలగనుంది.
Chief Election Commissioner of India and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, met Guyana’s High Commissioner to India, Dharamkumar Seeraj, at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation in election management in line with the vision outlined at IICDEM 2026. They also agreed to work closely on the training of election staff.
The discussions are expected to facilitate greater exchange of experience and expertise in election management between India and Guyana, strengthening cooperation in democratic and electoral processes
