Vanamahotsavam Held in Aliabad Municipality, Shamirpet; Chairperson Urges Environmental Protection
మేడ్చల్–మల్కాజిగిరి జిల్లా శామీర్పేట మండలం అలియాబాద్ మున్సిపాలిటీ పరిధిలోని 8వ వార్డులో మంగళవారం వనమహోత్సవ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మున్సిపల్ చైర్పర్సన్ కంఠం శిరీష కృష్ణారెడ్డి, మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్ ఎన్. వెంకట్ రెడ్డి మొక్కలు నాటి స్థానిక ప్రజలకు ఉచితంగా మొక్కలను పంపిణీ చేశారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా చైర్పర్సన్ కంఠం శిరీష కృష్ణారెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ ప్రతి ఒక్కరి సామాజిక బాధ్యత అని పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రతి కుటుంబం కనీసం ఒక మొక్కను నాటి, దానిని సంరక్షించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. పచ్చదనాన్ని పెంపొందించడం ద్వారా భావితరాలకు పరిశుభ్రమైన, ఆరోగ్యకరమైన వాతావరణాన్ని అందించవచ్చని ఆమె తెలిపారు.
మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్ ఎన్. వెంకట్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్న వనమహోత్సవంలో ప్రతి పౌరుడు భాగస్వామి కావాలని కోరారు. మొక్కలను నాటడం మాత్రమే కాకుండా, వాటిని సంరక్షించడం కూడా అంతే ముఖ్యమని ఆయన అన్నారు.
కార్యక్రమం అనంతరం స్థానిక ప్రజలకు ఉచితంగా మొక్కలను పంపిణీ చేశారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మున్సిపల్ అధికారులు, కార్యాలయ సిబ్బంది, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, వార్డు ప్రజలు పాల్గొన్నారు.

A Vanamahotsavam programme was organised on Tuesday in Ward No. 8 of Aliabad Municipality, Shamirpet mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Municipal Chairperson Kantham Sirisha Krishna Reddy and Municipal Commissioner N. Venkat Reddy planted saplings and distributed free plants to local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson Kantham Sirisha Krishna Reddy said that environmental protection is the responsibility of every citizen. She urged every family to plant at least one sapling and ensure its proper care, adding that increasing green cover would help provide a healthier environment for future generations.
Municipal Commissioner N. Venkat Reddy appealed to citizens to actively participate in the government’s Vanamahotsavam initiative. He stressed that protecting planted saplings is as important as planting them.
Free saplings were distributed to residents after the plantation drive. Municipal officials, staff members, public representatives and local residents participated in the programme.
