SMC Guidelines 2026 Strengthen School Governance
పాఠశాల నిర్వహణను మరింత పారదర్శకంగా, సమర్థవంతంగా మార్చేందుకు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం 2026 స్కూల్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ కమిటీ (SMC) మార్గదర్శకాలను అమల్లోకి తీసుకొచ్చింది. కొత్త మార్గదర్శకాలు జాతీయ విద్యా విధానం–2020 (NEP 2020) లక్ష్యాలకు అనుగుణంగా పాఠశాల పాలనను బలోపేతం చేయనున్నాయి.
The Government of India has introduced the School Management Committee (SMC) Guidelines 2026 to strengthen school governance in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with greater community participation and accountability.
2026 మే 6న విడుదలైన స్కూల్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ కమిటీ (SMC) మార్గదర్శకాలు–2026 ఇప్పటివరకు అమల్లో ఉన్న అన్ని పాత SMC మార్గదర్శకాలను భర్తీ చేశాయి. జాతీయ విద్యా విధానం–2020 (NEP 2020) దిశానిర్దేశాలకు అనుగుణంగా పాఠశాల పాలనను మరింత సమర్థవంతంగా, పారదర్శకంగా తీర్చిదిద్దడం ఈ మార్గదర్శకాల ప్రధాన ఉద్దేశం.
కొత్త నిబంధనల ప్రకారం బాలవాటిక నుంచి 12వ తరగతి వరకు ఒకే స్కూల్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ కమిటీ ఏర్పాటు చేయాలి. కమిటీకి తల్లిదండ్రులలో ఒకరు చైర్పర్సన్గా వ్యవహరించగా, మొత్తం సభ్యుల్లో 75 శాతం మంది తల్లిదండ్రులు లేదా సంరక్షకులు ఉండాలి. అలాగే కమిటీలో కనీసం 50 శాతం మహిళలకు ప్రాతినిధ్యం కల్పించాల్సి ఉంటుంది.
ప్రతి పాఠశాల మూడేళ్ల స్కూల్ డెవలప్మెంట్ ప్లాన్ రూపొందించి, దానికి అనుగుణంగా ప్రతి ఏడాది వార్షిక కార్యాచరణ ప్రణాళికను సిద్ధం చేయాలి. విద్యా నాణ్యత పెంపు, మౌలిక సదుపాయాల అభివృద్ధి, విద్యార్థుల సమగ్ర అభివృద్ధిపై ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి సారించనుంది.
అదేవిధంగా స్థానిక సమాజం భాగస్వామ్యాన్ని పెంచడం, పారదర్శకత, బాధ్యతాయుత పాలనను ప్రోత్సహించడం, వివిధ ప్రభుత్వ శాఖల ప్రధాన కార్యక్రమాలతో సమన్వయం కల్పించడం ద్వారా మెరుగైన అభ్యాస ఫలితాలను సాధించడమే ఈ మార్గదర్శకాల లక్ష్యంగా పేర్కొన్నారు.
The School Management Committee (SMC) Guidelines 2026, launched on May 6, 2026, replace all previous SMC guidelines and align school governance with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Under the new framework, a single SMC will function from Balvatika to Grade 12. The committee will be headed by a parent as Chairperson, with 75% representation from parents or guardians and at least 50% women members, ensuring greater community ownership in school governance.
Schools will prepare a three-year School Development Plan supported by annual action plans. The guidelines also focus on stronger community participation, transparency, accountability, and convergence with flagship government initiatives to improve learning outcomes and promote holistic child development.
