KTR Urges Centre to Revive Adilabad CCI Plant, Seeks Special Support Package

ఆదిలాబాద్/న్యూఢిల్లీ: భారత్ రాష్ట్ర సమితి (బీఆర్ఎస్) వర్కింగ్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ కేటీఆర్ న్యూఢిల్లీలో కేంద్ర భారీ పరిశ్రమలు, ఉక్కు శాఖ మంత్రి హెచ్.డి. కుమారస్వామిని కలిసి ఆదిలాబాద్లోని సిమెంట్ కార్పొరేషన్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (సీసీఐ) ప్లాంట్ను తక్షణమే పునరుద్ధరించాలని కోరారు.
రైతులు, సీసీఐ సాధన సమితి ప్రతినిధులతో కలిసి జరిగిన సమావేశంలో కేటీఆర్, 2019లో కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి అమిత్ షా ఇచ్చిన హామీని గుర్తు చేశారు. విలువైన ప్రభుత్వ ఆస్తిని స్క్రాప్గా మార్చకుండా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం వెంటనే చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
సుమారు 2,300 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో ఉన్న ఈ సీసీఐ ప్లాంట్కు సంవత్సరానికి 4 లక్షల మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల ఉత్పత్తి సామర్థ్యం ఉందని తెలిపారు. సుమారు ₹2,000 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడితో ప్లాంట్ను తిరిగి ప్రారంభించే అవకాశం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
కేంద్రం, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం చెరో ₹250 కోట్ల చొప్పున వయబిలిటీ సపోర్ట్ అందిస్తే ప్రాజెక్టును పునఃప్రారంభించవచ్చని, దీంతో దాదాపు 6,000 మందికి ప్రత్యక్ష, పరోక్ష ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు లభిస్తాయని కేటీఆర్ వివరించారు.
విశాఖపట్నం ఉక్కు కర్మాగారానికి కేంద్రం ప్రత్యేక ప్యాకేజీ ప్రకటించిన తరహాలోనే ఆదిలాబాద్ సీసీఐ ప్లాంట్కు కూడా ప్రత్యేక సహాయం అందించాలని ఆయన కోరారు. సీసీఐ పునరుద్ధరణ జరిగే వరకు బీఆర్ఎస్ పోరాటం కొనసాగుతుందని కేటీఆర్ స్పష్టం చేశారు.

New Delhi/Adilabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) met Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy in New Delhi and urged the immediate revival of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant at Adilabad.
Accompanied by a delegation of farmers and representatives of the CCI Sadhana Samithi, KTR reminded the Union Minister of the assurance made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in 2019 regarding the revival of the plant. He said the Centre should act promptly instead of allowing the valuable public asset to deteriorate.
According to KTR, the CCI plant, spread across nearly 2,300 acres with an installed production capacity of 4 lakh metric tonnes, can be revived with an investment of around ₹2,000 crore.
He proposed that both the Central and State Governments provide ₹250 crore each as viability support, enabling the project to restart and generate employment for nearly 6,000 people.
KTR also argued that since the Centre had extended a special package to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, similar assistance should be provided for the Adilabad CCI plant. He reiterated that the BRS would continue its efforts until the plant is revived.
