overnor Approves Release of 92 Life Convicts After Remission Review

హైదరాబాద్, మే 21: తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రంలో 92 మంది జీవిత ఖైదీలకు రిమిషన్ మంజూరు చేస్తూ తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్ ఆమోదం తెలిపారు. జైలు శాఖ అధికారులు, ఇంటెలిజెన్స్ విభాగాలు, రాష్ట్ర స్థాయి ఉన్నత కమిటీ నిర్వహించిన సమగ్ర సమీక్ష అనంతరం ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్లు అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు.
దీర్ఘకాలంగా శిక్ష అనుభవిస్తున్న ఖైదీల ప్రవర్తన, శిక్ష కాలం, అర్హతలను పరిశీలించిన తర్వాత రిమిషన్కు అనుమతి ఇచ్చినట్లు సమాచారం. విడుదల జాబితాలో 86 మంది పురుష ఖైదీలు, ఆరుగురు మహిళా ఖైదీలు ఉన్నారు. వీరిలో ఎక్కువ మంది హత్య కేసుల్లో శిక్ష అనుభవిస్తున్న వారేనని అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
చాలామంది ఖైదీలు ఇప్పటికే 15 సంవత్సరాలకు పైగా జైలు శిక్ష పూర్తిచేసినట్లు సమాచారం. సుప్రీంకోర్టు మార్గదర్శకాల ప్రకారం అర్హులైన జీవిత ఖైదీలను నిర్దిష్ట వ్యవధిలో సమీక్షించి ముందస్తు విడుదలపై నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉండటంతో ఈ ప్రక్రియ చేపట్టినట్లు అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు.

Hyderabad, May 21: The Telangana Governor has approved remission for 92 life convicts across the state following a detailed review conducted by prison authorities and state agencies. Officials said the decision was taken after jail superintendents, intelligence agencies, and a high-level committee examined the conduct, sentence duration, and eligibility of inmates serving long-term imprisonment.
According to officials, the remission list includes 86 male convicts and six women convicts. Most of those approved for release were convicted in murder-related cases and had reportedly completed more than 15 years in prison.
Authorities stated that the remission process was conducted in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines requiring periodic review of eligible life convicts for possible premature release.
