Political criticism intensified after the Central government’s latest decision to increase petrol and diesel prices. Opposition leaders alleged that the fuel price hike would place an additional burden on common people and trigger a rise in the prices of essential commodities.

Critics targeted the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the country’s economic management has weakened under its policies. They claimed that small and medium-scale industries are facing severe challenges, unemployment among youth remains a major concern, and the promise of doubling farmers’ income has not been fulfilled.
