తెలంగాణలో ఎంపీటీసీ, జడ్పీటీసీ ఎన్నికలు మరింత ఆలస్యం అయ్యే అవకాశాలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. ఇప్పటికే వాయిదా పడుతూ వస్తున్న స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలు జులై నెల చివరి వరకు జరిగే అవకాశాలు లేవన్న చర్చ రాజకీయ వర్గాల్లో కొనసాగుతోంది.
రాష్ట్రంలో స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ చేయాలని ఎదురుచూస్తున్న ఆశావహులకు ఇది మరో పెద్ద నిరాశగా మారుతోంది. ఎంపీటీసీ, జడ్పీటీసీ ఎన్నికలకు సిద్ధమవుతున్న అభ్యర్థులు మరికొంత కాలం వేచి చూడాల్సిన పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడింది.
ప్రస్తుతం రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం మే, జూన్ నెలల్లో జనగణన ప్రక్రియను ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా చేపట్టనుంది. మే 11 నుంచి జూన్ 9 వరకు ఇంటింటి సర్వే నిర్వహించనుండటంతో మొత్తం అధికార యంత్రాంగం ఈ ప్రక్రియలో నిమగ్నం కానుంది. దీంతో ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణకు అవసరమైన సిబ్బంది అందుబాటులో ఉండరని అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.
మరోవైపు మే 1 నుంచి 31 వరకు ఉద్యోగుల బదిలీలపై ఉన్న నిషేధాన్ని ప్రభుత్వం ఎత్తివేసింది. ఉపాధ్యాయులు సహా వివిధ శాఖల ఉద్యోగుల బదిలీల ప్రక్రియ మే నెల మొత్తం కొనసాగనుంది. ఈ బదిలీల ప్రక్రియ కూడా ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణపై ప్రభావం చూపనుంది.
జూన్ నెలలో రాష్ట్రంలోని పాఠశాలలు తిరిగి ప్రారంభం కానుండటంతో విద్యాశాఖ అడ్మిషన్లు, పాఠశాలల అభివృద్ధి వంటి అంశాలపై ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి పెట్టనుంది. ఉపాధ్యాయులు కూడా ఈ పనుల్లో బిజీగా ఉండటంతో ఎన్నికల సిబ్బంది కొరత తలెత్తే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయి.
ఇప్పటికే ఫిబ్రవరిలో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం మున్సిపల్ ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించింది. ఆ వెంటనే ఎంపీటీసీ, జడ్పీటీసీ ఎన్నికలు జరుగుతాయని ప్రచారం జరిగింది. అయితే బీసీ రిజర్వేషన్ల ఖరారు కోసం కులగణన లేదా తాజా జనగణన లెక్కలను ప్రామాణికంగా తీసుకోవాలన్న ఆలోచనతో ప్రభుత్వం ఎన్నికల నోటిఫికేషన్పై స్పష్టత ఇవ్వలేదు.
ప్రభుత్వ వర్గాల సమాచారం ప్రకారం జూలై చివరి నాటికి జనగణన, ఉద్యోగుల బదిలీల ప్రక్రియ పూర్తయ్యే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఆ తర్వాత ఆగస్టు లేదా సెప్టెంబర్ నెలల్లో ఎంపీటీసీ, జడ్పీటీసీ ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణపై ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయం తీసుకునే అవకాశముంది.
అప్పటి వరకు మండల పరిషత్లు, జిల్లా పరిషత్లు ప్రత్యేక అధికారుల పర్యవేక్షణలోనే కొనసాగనున్నాయి.

The MPTC and ZPTC elections in Telangana are likely to face further delay, with political circles indicating that local body polls may not be held until the end of July.
This comes as a major setback for aspirants waiting to contest in the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections. Candidates preparing for the polls may now have to wait for a few more months.
The Telangana government is set to undertake a major census exercise during May and June. A statewide door-to-door household survey is scheduled from May 11 to June 9, engaging the entire administrative machinery in census duties.
Officials believe that conducting elections during this period would be difficult as staff availability will be limited due to census responsibilities.
At the same time, the Revanth Reddy government has lifted the transfer ban on employees from May 1 to May 31. Transfers of teachers and employees from various departments will continue throughout May, further affecting election preparedness.
Schools across Telangana are also scheduled to reopen in June, and the Education Department will focus on admissions and school improvement programs. Teachers are expected to remain occupied with admission-related duties, which may create a shortage of election staff.
Earlier, after the municipal elections held in February, there was strong speculation that MPTC and ZPTC elections would follow immediately. However, the government is reportedly considering caste census or updated population data to finalize BC reservations before issuing election notifications.
According to government sources, both the census process and employee transfer exercise may reach completion by the end of July. Following that, the government may move toward conducting MPTC and ZPTC elections in August or September.
Until then, Mandal Parishads and Zilla Parishads are expected to continue functioning under the supervision of special officers.
