UIDAI Clarifies Aadhaar Is Not Valid Date of Birth Proof in Telangana and Across India
ఆధార్ కార్డుకు సంబంధించి యూనిక్ ఐడెంటిఫికేషన్ అథారిటీ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (UIDAI) కీలక స్పష్టత ఇచ్చింది. ఆధార్ కార్డు పుట్టిన తేదీకి అధికారిక రుజువు కాదని యూఐడీఏఐ వెల్లడించింది. ఆధార్ను కేవలం గుర్తింపు మరియు చిరునామా ధృవీకరణ పత్రంగా మాత్రమే పరిగణించాలని స్పష్టం చేసింది.
భారత్లో బ్యాంకింగ్ సేవలు, స్కూల్ అడ్మిషన్లు, ప్రభుత్వ పథకాలు, పాస్పోర్ట్ దరఖాస్తులు వంటి అనేక అవసరాలకు ఆధార్ కార్డు విస్తృతంగా ఉపయోగిస్తున్నారు. దీంతో చాలా మంది ఆధార్లో ఉన్న పుట్టిన తేదీనే అధికారిక రుజువుగా భావిస్తున్నారు.
అయితే యూఐడీఏఐ ప్రకారం ఆధార్లో నమోదు చేసిన పుట్టిన తేదీ ప్రతి సందర్భంలో పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ధృవీకరించబడినది కాకపోవచ్చు. చాలాసార్లు సరైన పత్రాలు లేకుండా వ్యక్తులు తమ అంచనా ప్రకారం పుట్టిన తేదీని నమోదు చేస్తుంటారు.
ఈ కారణంగా ఆధార్లో ఉన్న డేట్ ఆఫ్ బర్త్ను పూర్తి స్థాయి అధికారిక రుజువుగా పరిగణించరని అధికారులు స్పష్టం చేస్తున్నారు. న్యాయస్థానాలు, పలు ప్రభుత్వ శాఖలు కూడా ఇదే అభిప్రాయాన్ని పలుమార్లు వెల్లడించాయి.
పుట్టిన తేదీ ధృవీకరణ కోసం జనన ధృవీకరణ పత్రం, 10వ తరగతి మార్కుల మెమో, పాస్పోర్ట్ లేదా ప్రభుత్వ అధికారి జారీ చేసిన పుట్టిన తేదీ ధృవీకరణ పత్రాలను చూపించాలని సూచిస్తున్నారు.
యూఐడీఏఐ నిబంధనల ప్రకారం ఆధార్లోని పుట్టిన తేదీ కూడా ఇలాంటి అసలు పత్రాల ఆధారంగానే నమోదు చేయబడుతుంది. అయితే ఆధార్ స్వతంత్రంగా పుట్టిన తేదీకి తుది రుజువుగా పరిగణించబడదు.
సరైన పుట్టిన తేదీ రుజువు లేకుంటే భవిష్యత్తులో విద్య, ఉద్యోగాలు, ప్రభుత్వ పథకాలు, పాస్పోర్ట్ వంటి ముఖ్యమైన సేవల్లో ఇబ్బందులు ఎదురయ్యే అవకాశం ఉందని నిపుణులు హెచ్చరిస్తున్నారు.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued an important clarification regarding Aadhaar cards, stating that Aadhaar is not a valid official proof of date of birth.
UIDAI clarified that Aadhaar should only be treated as an identity proof and address proof, not as a final legal document for age or date of birth verification.
Across India, including Telangana, Aadhaar is widely used for banking services, school admissions, government welfare schemes, passport applications, and several official purposes. Because of this, many people assume that the date of birth mentioned in Aadhaar is sufficient proof.
However, UIDAI explained that the date of birth entered in Aadhaar is not always fully verified in every case. In many instances, individuals provide their date of birth based on approximation or without submitting strong supporting documents.
Due to this reason, the date of birth mentioned in Aadhaar cannot be treated as conclusive legal proof. Courts and several government departments have also repeatedly clarified that Aadhaar is not a final proof for age verification.
For valid date of birth proof, citizens must provide documents such as Birth Certificate, Class 10 mark sheet (SSLC), Passport, or an official Date of Birth Certificate issued by a competent government authority.
UIDAI rules state that Aadhaar date of birth itself is recorded based on such original supporting documents. However, Aadhaar alone does not serve as an independent DOB proof.
Experts warn that without proper date of birth documents, people may face difficulties in education, employment, passport processing, and government scheme eligibility in the future.
