హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలోని ఎల్బీ స్టేడియంలో తెలంగాణ లెజిస్లేటర్స్ స్పోర్ట్స్, కల్చరల్ మీట్ ఘనంగా ప్రారంభమైంది. బడ్జెట్ సమావేశాల సందర్భంగా నిర్వహించిన ఈ క్రీడా కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి హాజరై స్వయంగా పాల్గొన్నారు.
సుమారు 14 సంవత్సరాల విరామం తర్వాత తిరిగి ప్రారంభమైన ఈ క్రీడా సంప్రదాయం ప్రజాప్రతినిధుల్లో ఉత్సాహాన్ని నింపింది. “ఫిట్ లీడర్స్ – ఫిట్ స్టేట్” అనే నినాదంతో నిర్వహించిన ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మంత్రులు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఎమ్మెల్సీలు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో పాల్గొన్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా సీఎం మాట్లాడుతూ ఎల్బీ స్టేడియానికి గొప్ప చరిత్ర ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాలతో దీన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామని తెలిపారు. గచ్చీబౌలి క్రీడా మైదానాలను రూ.700 కోట్లతో ప్రపంచ స్థాయి సదుపాయాలతో అభివృద్ధి చేయనున్నట్లు చెప్పారు.
2034 నాటికి గచ్చీబౌలిలో ఒలింపిక్స్ నిర్వహించేందుకు ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేస్తున్నామని, త్వరలో పనులు ప్రారంభిస్తామని వెల్లడించారు. బేగంపేట హాకీ మైదానాన్ని కూడా అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామని తెలిపారు.
యువతలో క్రీడాస్ఫూర్తి పెంపొందించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు తీసుకుంటోందని, గ్రామస్థాయి నుంచి రాష్ట్ర స్థాయి వరకు సీఎం కప్ పోటీలను నిర్వహిస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. క్రీడల్లో ప్రతిభ కనబరచిన వారిని గుర్తించి ప్రోత్సహిస్తామని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో శాసనమండలి చైర్మన్ గుత్తా సుఖేందర్ రెడ్డి, స్పీకర్ గడ్డం ప్రసాద్ కుమార్, ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి భట్టి విక్రమార్క తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు. అనంతరం ఫుట్బాల్ సహా పలు క్రీడా పోటీలు నిర్వహించగా, ముఖ్యమంత్రి స్వయంగా మ్యాచ్లో పాల్గొని క్రీడాస్ఫూర్తిని ప్రోత్సహించారు.

The Telangana Legislators Sports and Cultural Meet commenced at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, bringing renewed focus on sports among public representatives. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the event and actively participated in the activities.
The event marks the revival of a sports tradition that had been inactive for nearly 14 years. Organized under the theme “Fit Leaders – Fit State,” the meet witnessed participation from ministers, MLAs, and MLCs in large numbers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the historic significance of LB Stadium and announced plans to upgrade it to international standards. He also revealed that sports infrastructure in Gachibowli would be developed with an investment of ₹700 crore.
He further stated that the government is planning to host the Olympics in Gachibowli by 2034, with works expected to begin soon. Development of the Begumpet hockey ground was also announced.
The government is taking steps to promote sports culture among youth, including organizing CM Cup competitions from village to state level. Talented sportspersons will be identified and encouraged, he added.
Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and several other public representatives attended the event. The programme concluded with various sports competitions, including a football match in which the Chief Minister himself participated.
