న్యూఢిల్లీ: 12వ బ్రిక్స్ పార్లమెంటరీ ఫోరం న్యూఢిల్లీలో ఉమ్మడి ప్రకటనను ఆమోదించడంతో ముగిసింది. ఈ ప్రకటనలో ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి భద్రతా మండలి సంస్కరణలు, ప్రపంచ పాలనలో గ్లోబల్ సౌత్ దేశాలకు మెరుగైన ప్రాతినిధ్యం, సరిహద్దుల గుండా జరిగే ఉగ్రవాదం అరికట్టడం వంటి అంశాలకు ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చారు.

సరిహద్దుల గుండా జరిగే ఉగ్రవాదం, ఉగ్రవాదానికి ఆర్థిక సహకారం, ఉగ్రవాదులకు ఆశ్రయాలు కల్పించడం వంటి అంశాలను ప్రకటన ఖండించింది. ఉగ్రవాదంపై ఎలాంటి మినహాయింపులు లేకుండా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని, ద్వంద్వ ప్రమాణాలకు ముగింపు పలకాలని పిలుపునిచ్చింది.
లోక్‌సభ స్పీకర్ ఓం బిర్లా మాట్లాడుతూ, ప్రపంచ సమస్యలకు శాశ్వత పరిష్కారాలు సంభాషణ, శాంతి, సహకారం ద్వారానే సాధ్యమని పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రజల విశ్వాసాన్ని కాపాడేందుకు పార్లమెంటులు పారదర్శకంగా, పౌరులకు కేంద్రంగా పనిచేసే సంస్థలుగా అభివృద్ధి చెందాలని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

The 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum concluded in New Delhi with the adoption of a Joint Declaration addressing global governance, United Nations Security Council reform and the fight against terrorism.
The declaration reaffirmed the consensus reflected in the New Delhi Declaration and endorsed greater representation for the Global South in global governance. It also supported reforms to the UN Security Council.
The joint statement condemned cross-border terrorism, terror financing and the provision of safe havens to terrorist groups. It called for zero tolerance towards terrorism and an end to double standards in addressing the threat.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasised that permanent solutions to global challenges could be achieved through dialogue, peace and cooperation. He also highlighted the importance of sovereign equality and ensuring that the priorities of the Global South receive greater attention in international decision-making.
The Speaker further stressed that parliaments must evolve into transparent, citizen-centric institutions to safeguard public trust.
The declaration marks the forum’s collective position on parliamentary cooperation, international security and reforms to global governance, as outlined in the information released by the Press Information Bureau.
