తెలంగాణలో ఉపాధి హామీ పథకం (ఎంజీఎన్ఆర్ఈజీఏ) సిబ్బందికి రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం శుభవార్త తెలిపింది. విధి నిర్వహణలో ఉన్న కాంట్రాక్టు, ఔట్సోర్సింగ్, రెగ్యులర్ ఉద్యోగులకు భారీ ఉచిత బీమా సదుపాయం కల్పించనుంది. ఈ బీమా కవరేజీ రూ.40 లక్షల నుంచి రూ.1 కోటి వరకు ఉండనుంది.
ఎస్బీఐ కార్పొరేట్ శాలరీ ప్యాకేజీ (సీఎస్పీ) పథకం మరియు స్టేట్ గవర్నమెంట్ శాలరీ ప్యాకేజీ (ఎస్జీఎస్పీ) పథకాల కింద ఈ ప్రయోజనం అందించబడుతోంది. ఉద్యోగులు విధి నిర్వహణలో లేదా ఇతరత్రా ప్రమాదవశాత్తు మరణించిన సందర్భంలో వారి కుటుంబాలకు ఈ బీమా మొత్తం అందించబడుతుంది.

ప్రస్తుతం ఉపాధి హామీ పథకంలో పనిచేస్తున్న ఉద్యోగులకు ప్రతి నెలా సుమారు రూ.24 కోట్ల మేర వేతనాలు చెల్లిస్తున్నారు. ఇందులో కాంట్రాక్టు, ఔట్సోర్సింగ్, రెగ్యులర్ ఉద్యోగులు ఉన్నారు.
ప్రస్తుత సిబ్బందిలో దాదాపు 70 శాతం మంది ఉద్యోగుల వేతన ఖాతాలు ఇప్పటికే ఎస్బీఐలోనే ఉన్నాయని అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు. దీంతో వారికి ఈ బీమా సౌకర్యం వెంటనే వర్తించనుంది.
మిగిలిన ఉద్యోగులు తమ వేతన ఖాతాలను ఎస్బీఐతో అనుసంధానించుకోవడం ద్వారా ఈ భారీ బీమా రక్షణ పొందే అవకాశం ఉందని సంబంధిత అధికారులు సూచించారు.
తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న ఈ నిర్ణయం ఉపాధి హామీ సిబ్బందికి భద్రతతో పాటు కుటుంబాలకు ఆర్థిక రక్షణ కల్పించే ముఖ్యమైన చర్యగా భావిస్తున్నారు.

The Telangana government has announced a major relief for employees working under the MGNREGA scheme by extending free insurance coverage ranging from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
This benefit will be provided to contract, outsourcing, and regular employees working under the employment guarantee scheme across the state. The insurance facility is being extended under the SBI Corporate Salary Package (CSP) scheme and the State Government Salary Package (SGSP) scheme.
Officials said that if an employee dies during duty or due to any accidental reason, the insurance amount will be provided to the family. This financial support is expected to offer long-term economic security to the dependents of the deceased employee.
The decision is seen as a major welfare step for MGNREGA staff, especially those working in rural Telangana where field-level risks remain high.
At present, around Rs 24 crore is being paid every month as salaries to contract, outsourcing, and regular employees working under the MGNREGA system.
Authorities stated that nearly 70 percent of the existing employees already have their salary accounts in SBI. These employees will receive the insurance benefit immediately without additional formalities.
The remaining employees can also avail themselves of this large insurance protection by linking their salary accounts with SBI, officials clarified.
The Telangana government’s move is expected to strengthen employee welfare and provide strong financial protection to families in times of crisis.
