జనరిక్ మందులు వ్రాయని డాక్టర్లపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని, ప్రజా ఆరోగ్యంపై ప్రభుత్వం మరింత శ్రద్ధ పెట్టాలని తెలంగాణ హాస్పిటల్స్-పేరెంట్స్ కోఆర్డినేషన్ కమిటి డిమాండ్ చేసింది.
The Telangana Hospitals-Parents Coordination Committee has demanded strict action against doctors who fail to prescribe generic medicines and urged the government to prioritize public health.
హనుమకొండ కలెక్టర్ స్నేహ శబరీష్ కు సమర్పించిన పిర్యాదులో కమిటి రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షులు బి. సతీష్, ఆల్ ఇండియా ఒబిసి జాక్ చైర్మన్ సాయిని నరేందర్ పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రజా ఆరోగ్యం కోసం కోట్లు వెచ్చిస్తున్నా, ప్రభుత్వం డాక్టర్ల పనితీరు, మందుల వినియోగంపై సరైన చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం లేదని వారు విమర్శించారు.
2011లో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం జారీ చేసిన జి.ఒ.ఎం.ఎస్ 54, 2016లో మెడికల్ కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా విడుదల చేసిన నోటిఫికేషన్ ప్రకారం ప్రతి డాక్టర్ జనరిక్ పేర్లతోనే మందులు వ్రాయాలని స్పష్టమైన నిబంధన ఉన్నా, ఎక్కువ మంది డాక్టర్లు పాటించడం లేదని వారు ఆరోపించారు. నిబంధనలకు విరుద్ధంగా ప్రవర్తించిన డాక్టర్లపై క్రమశిక్షణ చర్యలు తీసుకోవడానికి, అపరాధ రుసుములు విధించడానికి అధికారం ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఇప్పటివరకు ఎలాంటి చర్యలు తీసుకోలేదని తెలిపారు.
జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ అధ్యక్షతన జిల్లా స్థాయి కమిటీ (డీఎల్సీ) ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని ప్రభుత్వ ఉత్తర్వులు ఉన్నా, ఇప్పటివరకు అలాంటి కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేయలేదని వారు గుర్తు చేశారు. వెంటనే కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేసి ప్రజా ఆరోగ్యాన్ని కాపాడడంతో పాటు, ఫార్మా కంపెనీలతో కుమ్మక్కై దోపిడీ చేస్తున్న డాక్టర్లపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో బి ఎల్ ఎఫ్ నాయకులు ఐతం నగేష్, న్యాయవాదులు మొగిలయ్య, ఎగ్గడి సుందర్ రామ్ పాల్గొన్నారు.
Doctors who do not prescribe generic medicines must face action, and the government must focus more on public health, demanded the Telangana Hospitals-Parents Coordination Committee.
The committee submitted a grievance to Hanumakonda Collector Sneha Sabareesh, led by state president B. Satish and All India OBC JAC chairman Saini Narendra. They criticized that although crores of rupees are being spent on public health, the government is not monitoring doctors’ practices or the usage of medicines properly.
They pointed out that as per G.O.Ms. No. 54 issued by the Telangana government in 2011 and the 2016 notification of the Medical Council of India, every doctor registered under MCI must prescribe medicines by their generic names. However, many doctors are not following this rule. Though authorities have the power to impose penalties and take disciplinary action against such violations, no such steps have been taken so far, they alleged.
They further reminded that as per government orders, a District Level Committee (DLC) under the chairmanship of the Collector must be formed to review implementation of health-related issues and awareness on generic medicines, but such a committee has not yet been set up. They appealed to immediately form the committee with officials and parents, protect public health, and curb the exploitation by doctors colluding with pharma companies.
