దేశవ్యాప్తంగా హైవేలపై ప్రయాణించే వాహనదారులకు కొత్త టోల్ నిబంధనలు అమల్లోకి వచ్చాయి. ఫాస్టాగ్ లేకపోతే లేదా రీఛార్జ్ చేయకపోతే ఇకపై అదనపు టోల్ ఛార్జీలు తప్పవు. తెలంగాణతో పాటు దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఈ నియమాలు అమలవుతున్నాయి.
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం టోల్ ప్లాజాల వద్ద క్యాష్ చెల్లింపులను పూర్తిగా నిలిపివేసి 100 శాతం డిజిటల్ వ్యవస్థను అమలు చేస్తోంది. ఫాస్టాగ్ లేకుండా హైవేలో ప్రయాణిస్తే సాధారణ టోల్ ఫీజుకు 1.25 రెట్లు చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. అలాగే బ్లాక్లిస్ట్ అయిన ఫాస్టాగ్ లేదా తక్కువ బ్యాలెన్స్ ఉన్నా కూడా పెనాల్టీలు విధించే అవకాశం ఉంది.
టోల్ ప్లాజాల వద్ద డిజిటల్ చెల్లింపులు మాత్రమే అనుమతించడంతో వాహనదారులు ముందుగానే ఫాస్టాగ్ రీఛార్జ్ చేసుకోవాలని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. రీఛార్జ్ లేకుండా ఫాస్టాగ్ లేన్లోకి ప్రవేశిస్తే రెట్టింపు టోల్ వసూలు చేయవచ్చు.
డిజిటల్ చెల్లింపు విఫలమైతే ఈ-నోటీసులు జారీ అవుతాయి. మూడు రోజులలోపు చెల్లించకపోతే పెనాల్టీ మరింత పెరుగుతుంది. 15 రోజుల పాటు చెల్లింపులు చేయకపోతే వాహన సేవలపై ఆంక్షలు విధించే అవకాశం ఉంది.
ఈ కొత్త విధానం వల్ల టోల్ వసూళ్లలో పారదర్శకత పెరుగుతుందని, ట్రాఫిక్ జామ్లు తగ్గుతాయని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. వాహనదారులు ఇబ్బందులు పడకుండా ముందుగానే ఫాస్టాగ్ తీసుకుని రీఛార్జ్ చేసుకోవాలని సూచిస్తున్నారు.

New toll regulations have come into effect across highways in India, impacting vehicle owners traveling without a valid FASTag. Drivers without FASTag or with insufficient balance will now be required to pay higher toll charges. These rules are applicable across Telangana and the rest of the country.
The central government has implemented a 100% digital toll collection system, eliminating cash payments at toll plazas. Vehicles without FASTag will have to pay up to 1.25 times the regular toll fee. Additionally, blacklisted FASTag accounts or insufficient balance may lead to penalties.
Authorities have advised vehicle owners to ensure their FASTag is active and sufficiently recharged before entering toll lanes. Entering FASTag lanes without proper balance may result in double toll charges.
In case of failed digital payments, e-notices will be issued, and failure to pay within three days may lead to increased penalties. If dues remain unpaid for over 15 days, it could affect vehicle-related services such as transfer or fitness certification.
