ఏపీ లిక్కర్ స్కాంలో విస్తృత అవినీతి జరిగిందని, బాబు, జగన్, పవన్ ముగ్గురూ బీజేపీకి తొత్తులుగా వ్యవహరిస్తున్నారని ఏపీసీసీ అధ్యక్షురాలు షర్మిలా రెడ్డి తీవ్ర విమర్శలు చేశారు. లిక్కర్ స్కాం వెనుక ఉన్న నాన్ డ్యూటీ పెయిడ్ మద్యం విక్రయాలు, ఓన్లీ క్యాష్ పద్ధతులు, ప్రజల ఆరోగ్యానికి హానికరమైన మద్య విక్రయాలు వంటి అంశాలపై ఆమె ప్రశ్నలు లేవనెత్తారు.

APCC chief YS Sharmila Reddy alleged that the SIT investigation into the liquor scam was superficial and compared it to “digging a mountain to find a rat.” She stated that the scam involves not just ₹3,500 crores but the entire liquor chain from distilleries to consumers. According to her, cash-only sales were carried out to facilitate illegal transactions, with thousands of crores siphoned off. She also criticized former CM Chandrababu Naidu for failing to ensure digital payments despite liquor sales of ₹1 lakh crore, with only ₹600 crore in digital transactions being recorded.
Sharmila alleged that during the YCP regime, only harmful and low-quality liquor was promoted, resulting in 30 lakh people suffering from liver and kidney issues and around 30,000 deaths. She demanded an investigation into why trusted liquor brands were banned, why only cash sales were allowed, and why non-duty-paid liquor was sold. She accused Jagan of avoiding accountability on key issues like the Rushikonda project, Viveka’s murder, and Polavaram project delays.
Sharmila asserted that Congress is not the “B-team” of Chandrababu, but claimed that Jagan has been BJP’s proxy for the last five years, always siding with Modi despite injustices to Andhra Pradesh.
