ఫోన్ ట్యాపింగ్‌పై సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు రాష్ట్ర రాజకీయాల్లో సంచలనాన్ని సృష్టించాయి. ఓ మీడియా చిట్‌చాట్‌లో మాట్లాడుతూ, ఫోన్ ట్యాపింగ్ చట్టవిరుద్ధం కాదని, కానీ దానికి సంబంధించి సరైన అనుమతులు తప్పనిసరిగా ఉండాలని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. వ్యక్తిగత హద్దులు దాటి కుటుంబ సభ్యుల ఫోన్‌లు వింటే ఆత్మహత్యే మేలని రేవంత్ తెలిపారు. తాను అలాంటి పనులు ఎప్పటికీ చేయనని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.

ఆర్‌ఎస్ ప్రవీణ్ కుమార్ ఫిర్యాదుతో ఈ వివాదం మొదలైందని గుర్తు చేసిన రేవంత్, ఇప్పటికే సిట్ దర్యాప్తు ప్రారంభమైందని తెలిపారు. ఈ వ్యవహారంలో ప్రభుత్వం జోక్యం చేసుకోదని, సిట్ స్వతంత్రంగా దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగిస్తోందని ఆయన వివరించారు.
“నా ఫోన్ ట్యాపింగ్ కాలేదని నమ్ముతున్నాను. జరిగి ఉంటే నన్ను కూడా విచారణకు పిలిచేవారు” అని రేవంత్ స్పష్టం చేశారు. సిట్ అధికారులపై తాను ఎటువంటి ఒత్తిడి లేదా డిక్టేట్ చేయనని ఆయన తెలిపారు.

Speaking in a media interaction, he clarified that phone tapping is not illegal but must be done only with proper permissions. He stated that crossing personal boundaries and listening to family members’ calls is worse than death. He asserted that he would never indulge in such actions.
Revanth emphasized that phone tapping is not illegal but should strictly follow government protocols and required permissions. He warned against tapping done out of personal vendetta.
He recalled that this controversy began with the complaint of RS Praveen Kumar and said that the SIT investigation has already started. He mentioned that the government will not interfere and that SIT is conducting the investigation independently.
“I believe my phone was not tapped. If it had been, I too would have been called for inquiry,” Revanth clarified. He added that he would not dictate or pressure SIT officials in any way.
Political analysts note that CM Revanth’s remarks amidst the phone tapping controversy indicate the government’s focus on transparency and legality.
