Mulugu district has been selected under the Centre’s Inclusive Cities for Women and Girls programme aimed at strengthening women’s safety through improved infrastructure, surveillance and emergency response systems.
మహిళల భద్రతను బలోపేతం చేయడానికి కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అమలు చేస్తున్న ‘ఇన్క్లూజివ్ సిటీస్ ఫర్ ఉమెన్ అండ్ గర్ల్స్’ కార్యక్రమంలో తెలంగాణలోని ములుగు జిల్లాకు చోటు దక్కింది. ఈ పథకం ద్వారా మహిళలకు సురక్షితమైన పట్టణ వాతావరణం కల్పించడంపై దృష్టి సారించనున్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమం కింద వీధి దీపాలు, సీసీటీవీ కెమెరాలు, సురక్షిత ప్రజా రవాణా సదుపాయాలు, మహిళల కోసం హెల్ప్లైన్ వ్యవస్థలను బలోపేతం చేయనున్నారు. అలాగే అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల్లో వేగంగా స్పందించే వ్యవస్థలను కూడా ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నారు.
మహిళలు, బాలికలు భయపడకుండా విద్య, ఉపాధి మరియు ఇతర అవసరాల కోసం స్వేచ్ఛగా సంచరించేలా చేయడం ఈ కార్యక్రమం ప్రధాన లక్ష్యంగా అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
The initiative also focuses on gender-inclusive urban planning, safety audits and community awareness programmes. Officials said coordination between local administration and police departments will play a key role in implementation.
The selection of Mulugu is expected to bring focused investment in safety infrastructure and serve as a model for similar districts in improving women-friendly urban spaces.
