సోమాజిగూడ ప్రెస్ క్లబ్ వేదికగా రైతుల సంక్షేమంపై చర్చకు సిద్ధంగా వచ్చిన బీఆర్ఎస్ వర్కింగ్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ కేటీఆర్, సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి హాజరు కాలేదని తీవ్రస్థాయిలో మండిపడ్డారు. కాంగ్రెస్ అధికారంలోకి వచ్చాక 600 మంది రైతులు ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్నారని, వారి కోసం బీఆర్ఎస్ నేతలు ఒక నిమిషం మౌనం పాటించినట్లు తెలిపారు.
గత 18 నెలలుగా కాంగ్రెస్ పాలన వ్యవస్థను సంక్షోభంలోకి నెట్టిందని, ఎన్నికల హామీలను నోటికొచ్చినట్లుగా చెప్పి ఇప్పుడు ఒక్క హామీ కూడా అమలు చేయలేదన్నారు. రేవంత్ రెడ్డికి బేసిక్ నాలెడ్జ్ లేకుండా వ్యవసాయంపై మాట్లాడడం సిగ్గుచేటన్నారు. ప్రెస్ క్లబ్ వద్ద తాను చర్చకు సిద్ధంగా వచ్చానని, రేవంత్ ఢిల్లీకి వెళ్లిపోవడం సాక్ష్యంగా చర్చకు భయపడ్డారని విమర్శించారు.
చర్చకు రాలేకపోయినా, కనీసం వ్యవసాయ మంత్రి, ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రిని పంపిస్తారని ఆశించామని కానీ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం రైతుల సమస్యల పట్ల నిర్లక్ష్యం ప్రదర్శించిందన్నారు. కోడంగల్ నియోజకవర్గంలో 670 మంది రైతులు రైతు భరోసా పొందలేదని తాను వారి వివరాలతో వచ్చానన్నారు. రుణమాఫీ, ఎరువుల కొరత, కరెంట్ సమస్యలపై కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తిగా విఫలమైందని స్పష్టం చేశారు.
తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం నీళ్లు, నిధులు, నియామకాల కోసం జరిగిందని, కానీ రేవంత్ కాంగ్రెస్ పాత దుర్మార్గ పాలనను తీసుకొచ్చారని విమర్శించారు. కేసీఆర్ పేరును తిడుతూ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి రాజకీయ చిత్తశుద్ధిని కోల్పోయారని, రైతు సంక్షేమంపై చర్చకు సిద్ధమైతే ఎక్కడైనా రావాలని సవాలు విసిరారు. రచ్చ కాదు, చర్చే కావాలని తేల్చిచెప్పారు.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for skipping the much-anticipated debate on farmers’ welfare at the Somajiguda Press Club. KTR accused Revanth of running away from an open discussion despite publicly challenging others to one.
He pointed out that after the Congress came to power, over 600 farmers died by suicide, and to pay respects, BRS leaders observed a minute’s silence. He said that in 18 months, Revanth had not fulfilled even one of the six guarantees promised before the elections. He alleged that Revanth lacked basic knowledge on agriculture and governance and failed to provide answers to key issues.
KTR said he came fully prepared for a fact-based debate, bringing data on 670 farmers from Kodangal who hadn’t received benefits under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He accused the Congress government of being unprepared to address farmer distress — from fertilizer shortages to electricity outages and loan waivers.
He further claimed Revanth was reviving old regimes of suppression, echoing the Emergency-era governance, and arresting people even for social media posts. KTR warned that Telangana farmers and youth were ready to hold Revanth accountable and declared that BRS leaders were ready for any debate, anywhere, on farmer welfare.
He concluded by challenging Revanth once again to fix a date, time, and place for the debate, saying, “If you don’t have the courage to face the truth, apologize to KCR and Telangana’s farmers.”
