Even after being elected twice from the Satyavedu constituency in Chittoor, MLA Koneti Adimulam feels ignored and powerless — first under the YSRCP and now in the TDP. In 2019, Adimulam won on a YSRCP ticket but had no administrative say, with influence held by then-minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. Disagreements pushed him to switch parties and win again in 2024 from the TDP. Yet, he continues to face marginalization.
A sexual harassment case filed against him — later withdrawn in court — led to his suspension from the party. Even after the court cleared him and the complainant retracted the case, Adimulam has not been restored to his full standing.
He recently lashed out, questioning why police officers salute local coordinators instead of the elected MLA. “How can others control development and be prioritized when I was elected by the people?” he asked, visibly frustrated.
