A farmer from Ronihal village in Karnataka’s Vijayapur district staged a dramatic protest on the Hubli-Solapur National Highway on Monday. Agitated over receiving just ₹250 per quintal for his onion crop, the farmer overturned sacks of onions onto the road and collapsed in distress.

This emotional protest, captured on video, spread rapidly across social media, sparking widespread sympathy and raising tough questions for the local administration. Farmers’ unions called the incident a “symbol of agricultural neglect,” renewing the call for fair crop pricing.
