A sensational twist in the honeymoon murder case of Indore couple Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi has shocked both police and locals. Residents of Indore, particularly Sonam’s neighbours, expressed disbelief over her alleged involvement in her husband’s murder.

“Sonam was cheerful and her wedding was grand,” said Sapna Solanki, a neighbour. “We never imagined she could be involved in such a crime.” Another neighbour said, “We called her ‘Bitti’. She was always kind and friendly.”

Meanwhile, ASP Sanjeev Uikey revealed that Anand Patel, one of the accused, was nabbed in a joint operation between Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya Police.

SIT Chief Herbert Kharkongor said four accused have been arrested—Vishal Chauhan, Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput and Anand Patel. Formal arrest proceedings are underway for Sonam, who surrendered to UP Police in Ghazipur.

“Terrain and weather were our initial challenges,” said Kharkongor. “We recovered Raja’s body and launched a full-scale investigation.” Raja and Sonam, residents of Indore, had gone missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja’s body was later found, and the case turned into a suspected murder.

A senior UP Police official said Sonam was located near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway. The investigation is ongoing, and the motive is yet to be fully uncovered.
