రేషన్ ద్వారా అందిస్తున్న సన్న బియ్యంలో నాణ్యత లోపాలు ఉన్నాయని మాజీ మంత్రి, ఎమ్మెల్యే హరీష్ రావు విమర్శించారు. మంగళవారం సిద్దిపేట కలెక్టరేట్‌లో జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్న ఆయన, ఈ అంశంపై అధికారులను కోరారు.
ప్రభుత్వం అందజేస్తున్న సన్న బియ్యంలో 40 నుంచి 50 శాతం వరకు నూకలు ఉంటున్నాయని ప్రజల నుంచి పెద్ద ఎత్తున ఫిర్యాదులు వస్తున్నాయని తెలిపారు. దొడ్డు బియ్యాన్ని పాలిష్ చేసి పంపిణీ చేస్తుండటం వల్ల ఈ సమస్యలు తలెత్తుతున్నాయని అన్నారు. స్థానికంగా పరిశీలన జరిపి, సమస్యను తక్షణమే పరిష్కరించాలని ఆయన అధికారులను కోరారు.
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ ఆదేశాల మేరకు మూడు నెలల సన్న బియ్యం ఒకేసారి పంపిణీ చేయడం వల్ల నాణ్యత లోపించింది అని పేర్కొన్నారు. “ఇది నిరంతర ప్రక్రియ. ఎప్పుడైనా కొత్త రేషన్ కార్డులు ఇవ్వడం జరుగుతుంది. మా ప్రభుత్వం 6,47,479 రేషన్ కార్డులు మంజూరు చేసింది,” అని అన్నారు హరీష్ రావు.
అంతేకాకుండా, గతంలో ఒక్క కుటుంబానికి నాలుగు కేజీల బియ్యం ఇస్తే, బీఆర్‌ఎస్ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతి సభ్యునికి ఆరు కేజీల చొప్పున బియ్యం ఇచ్చిందని గుర్తు చేశారు. ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ, బీసీ హాస్టళ్లలో మంచి నాణ్యమైన సన్న బియ్యం అందించి విద్యార్థుల భవిష్యత్తు మెరుగుపరచిన ఘనత బీఆర్‌ఎస్‌దేనని పేర్కొన్నారు.
కొత్తగా కార్డులు పొందిన వారికి కూడా ఈ నెల నుంచే కోటా అందించాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. భవిష్యత్‌లో నాణ్యమైన బియ్యాన్ని ప్రజలకు అందించేందుకు కృషి చేయాలని, జిల్లా అభివృద్ధి కోసం కలిసి పనిచేయాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao expressed strong dissatisfaction over the distribution of poor-quality rice through ration cards. He said that 40 to 50 percent of the fine rice distributed contains broken grains, and accused the government of polishing coarse rice and distributing it as fine rice. He stated that a large number of complaints have been received from the people of Siddipet district.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Siddipet Collectorate on Tuesday, Harish Rao said that the three-month quota of fine rice was distributed at once following central government orders, which led to quality issues. He criticized the government for providing substandard rice that is not fit for consumption.
He noted that ration card distribution is a continuous process, and under the BRS government, 6,47,479 new ration cards were issued. While earlier governments provided four kilograms of rice per card, the BRS government provided six kilograms of rice per person in the family.
He further added that the BRS government supplied fine rice to SC, ST, and BC hostels, laying the foundation for a brighter future for students. He demanded that the rice quota be extended to new cardholders from this month itself and urged the government to ensure high-quality rice distribution in the future.
